Hi all,

I m new to the forum and have never played a game before. But I do enjoy reading all the fluff at the games workshop website. Though because of my lack of understanding of the rules, I do not know how strength, toughness, weaponskill, ward save, flanking, march blocking is actually played out. Not to mention the fluff description for the special characters which, try as I might cannot understand. (e.g Revered Spear of Tlanxla, Hand of Gods and light armour, Sacred Spawning of Xhotk; Army of Kroq-Gar) But the models shown on the games workshop are wonderfully painted and I enjoyed looking at them and could just close my eyes and envisage a whole army of troops in a lush, green battlefield with suitable buildings acting as covers for troops and locking horns with the opponent.

My favourite army would be chaos troops undivided, elite, ultra tough, ultra expensive, hit like a ton of bricks on the charge, inspire fear and terror and the black theme with some bright yellow/orange/red linings simply look stunning. Not to mentioned that if I can have a bloodthirster with the chaos troops undvided. It simply is the most hard hitting model in the entire warhammer universe and to overrun the opponent by sheer bloodlust and brute power just oozes animalistic power to me. I have been converted to the dark side......

2nd favourite would be a Lizardman army as I have always like dinosaurs since young and Kroq-gar & Grymloq looks awesome (on the games workshop website). My idea of a Lizardman army is a power slann mage priest (slann mages are among the most power mages in the warhammer universe in fluff?) raining magic on the opponent protected by Chaxx the eternal warden guard and his regiment of temple guards, overlooking the slann mage forever, protecting him resolutely till the last guard. In the frontline, kroq-gar & grymloq will wreak havoc on the enemy troops, dismembering every troop that the duo come across while sending shockwaves of terror in the thickest of actions. Cold one calvary will act as core shock troops and snap and bite with much ferocity while the skinks will do hit & run tactics and drug everyone silly with their poison blowpipes.

Welcome to Dakka!

I'll go ahead an assume then that Warhammer Fantasy is your main game. Both Warriors of Chaos and Lizardmen are fun armies, and both make great starting points.

The only thing I'd like to point out is that, sadly, Daemons, Warriors and Beastmen can no longer mix in the same armies, so if you'd want a Bloodthirster you'd need to have a Daemon army =/

Either way though, welcome!

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.
