So last night I got butchered by a fate weaver deamon list, lots of scoring units, 2 deamon princes. Played two games and got slaughtered both times, just couldnt lay down enough fire power and get away fast enough. What is the best way for necrons to deal with them?

1. MAKE A LIST TO GET CRITIQUED

2. To answer you somewhat vague question, Mechcron.

HQ
Trazyn with CCB
Overlord with Orb and Mind shackle scarabs (make those DP hit themselves)
Court of Lances
TROOPS
Units of 9 Warriors with Ghost Arks (Stick the Lances in here)
A unit of Immortals with blasters for camping
ELITES
Stalkers, more Stalkers
FAST ATTACK
Scarabs (so your S5 attacks can't ID me? to bad)
HEAVY SUPPORT
Annihilation Barges. Daemons are really the army that they are best against (not to say they aren't good against other armies as well)

STRATEGY
Trazyn waits until some of his BL or PB are out of the 4+ bubble and suicides them (his mass CC attack is great for it)
The overload sits with the Immortals
The lances split up between the warriors in arks
The warriors fly around at combat speed and rapidfire entire squads to death with 28 strength 4 shots plus 1 strength 8. Then they can run if necessary
The Stalkers mark up targets for rapidfire and can also use the flamer before assaulting smaller units/big stuff.
Scarabs are great tarpits for anything S5 and below.
The Barges will die, but not before firing one round, and that round, everything will be bunched up around fateweaver. Thus they are easy to multi target.

Ya, I play Crons, what about it?
Also, they are just shiny space zombies with guns.

1) You either focus everything on Fate Weaver until he's dead (and I mean it....shoot at him and at nothing else until the sucker is dead or does his 'RUN AWAY' thing).
2) Ignore Fate Weaver (except to stay away from him) and shoot at everything else.

Another trick is to bait units away from his aura. He can't be everywhere at once.

Daemons shouldn't be a big problem as they come in piece-meal. If they DS close to you, you should have enough fire power to rip them to shreds (Tesla is your friend here as deamons don't care about AP).

Night Scythes and Annihilation Barges will maul him badly. Just keep moving so he doesn't auto-hit in CC.

Scarabs are actually great for tying up daemons as almost none of them have S6 or better.

I 100% disagree with the above list, though.

Something like:

(1500 Points)
1xOverlord w /Warscythe, Phaeron, and an additional 15 point item of your choosing.
1×9 Warriors with a Ghost Ark
4×5 Immortals with Night Scythe w/Cryptek w/Lance.
1×5 Immortals with Night Scythe w/Cryptek w/Lance+Pulse.
2x8 Scarabs
3xAnnihilation Barges

Total: 1497
