Hey all I have returned from the dead to attempt yet again a blog, This time around i will be focusing on trying to gear up for my local winter 40K league. We will be starting in January with 750 points and moving up 250 every 2 weeks. We will get points for painting and games and we will be wrapping it all up with our final lists of 2000 in a 3 round tournament. I have had my eldar for a LONG LONG time now, adding things at random intervals but I have never really gotten around to painting any of them over the years. What I have done however is rush putting allot of them together over the years just so I could get them on the field and play with them. I have finally psyched myself up enough to start painting them. I have my 2000 list and everything have been primed and then air brushed their base color. I will be uploading painting guides for how I have been doing them with step by steps for the models when I get around to them. So far what I have done is my test models for some of my guys which you will see below. Now I will be adding some snow to their bases at the end and all the vehicles will be getting allot of small details later down the line like some green dragons that I have planned out for them. I also have a side project that I just picked up to grab some extra cash for the holiday. My friend has been bugging me to paint this Demon blood bowl team he put together for a long time now so I finally caved in and I decided I might as well throw that up on the blog so I can get back into the swing of picture taking and editing and stuff. The pics I have so far are not very good because I don't have a light box or anything like that yet, I will be getting one for myself for Xmas. So anyway here are pics of the 2 wave serpents, Yriel, a warlock(who I did a really big messup on because the can of sealer I used was bad so he is spotty from that.), and a fire dragon so you can see what they are going to look like when I get around to it. Oh yea as far as what all I will be painting still I have 20 dire avengers, 10 storm guardians, 6 howling banshees, 9 more fire dragons, a farseer, 2 fire prisms, a night spinner, 2 more red wave serpents like the ones below, and then 2 wave serpents painted more like that fire dragon. So I have allot of painting to do in the next 3-4 months and the first things you guys will be seeing will be the blood bowl team over the next 2-3 weeks and the dire avengers then the 2 fire prisms. So I hope you guys enjoy my blog and I am always here to answer questions if they should arise. So Enjoy the pics so far:

ok so I have the first stage of the Demons done, I sprayed them all down with mechrite red. The next step will be two washes that will be baal red and then a wash of devil mud. I will have those pics up when that is done later today.

Ok so At this point I have done a thick wash of baal red and then a watered down wash of Devlin mud. The next step will be the first highlight which I think I will be using red gore for it

Ok well I got some more work done today. I got blood red on all but the 4 blitzers and the larger demon which will all come tomorrow. So I grabbed some quick pics to show my progress so far.. this is an awfully quite blog... but I will continue if nothing else for my own good.

Those ?Wave Serpents? are sick (I hate you) so I don't want to hear any complaining when I ask you to paint my sh!t because If you didn't paint like that I wouldn't ask.

Those Fire Dragons are gorgeous! Love the scheme.

Edit: What team rules do you plan to use for those demons? Love the lizardmen one for sure. All the other mutation bits are smooth as can be too.

Beastmen and human rules depending on what he wants to run.

Also if you like the fire dragon you will really like their wave serpent which will be special, the two that I am painting. They will not be started until January sadly for after these demons I have a bunch of dire avengers to paint.

OK so I started on the final highlight after I got the blood red done on all of them. The last highlight is Macharius solar orange and I must say it ties the reds on these guys together quite well. I haven't had much time to paint today and yesterday I didn't get anything done hobby wise. So I have 5 of them with the red completely finished so here are the pics of them. I will upload a full group shot when they are done probably monday I would assume because I don't know how much time I will have tomorrow and Sunday is my warhammer day. Well enjoy the pics and let me know what you think.

Ok so the red is done on all the demons except for the large one who I will finish painting all at once. I have started on the armor which is going to be painted as if it were bone so I am starting with bleach bone, washing with Gryphonne Sepia, highlighting with bleach bone, and then maybe finishing this a few touches of skull white. Later when they are mostly done I will probably flick them with blood. I will have pictures up later today so check back later tonight.

Ok So pics are of bleach bone on the armor, then gave armor a wash of gryphonne sepia, then highlighted again with bleach bone. The runners and blitzers all got a little bit of skull white painted on the edges. So here are the pics next will be the cloth which I am going to do as flesh I think so stay tuned for images of those tomorrow maybe.

Ok so I work a few mins of GIMP magic and I have made some little images from my winter project. My local hobby store is quite nice to our gaming group and we have allot of players and we have a fair amount of terrain but what we dont have is any winter themed terrain. I am a HUGE fan of winter and snow so I decided I wanted to add that into my hobby. So I have made a few tables in the past and I have made some HUGE mistakes before and I hope that I have learned from them. So I have some basic images of what I plan on doing with the tables.

Ok so that will be the basic table layout with a frozen river covering a few of the boards. The reason I decided to do this is because I tried doing a river board a few years ago and I tried this two part resin mixture that well... it NEVER set and it completely ruined my boards but I have 1 board that I didn't really do anything with but I already had the board assembled and the foam cut so I decided I would tackle round two with this resin and see if I cant do it right this time. So I did the boards in this fashion because there are many ways I can set it up I could do 3 next to each other or I could do 1 tall and two wide and I have ALLOT of variations. I already have the materials and its all cut and I am in the process of assembling the frame. Images of those will come later. I also plan on making a few hills, some forests, some bridges, and maybe some buildings.

So how these are being constructed is I have half inch thick MDF board cut in 2X4 sections. I am making a wood frame around them using 2/3" X 2/3" wood to frame it with space for the river cut out. I am then placing down 2/3 inch foam that will be cut for the river and whatnot. It will all get glue and sand and then painted and flocked accordingly. I will post images of progression every so often as I work on it. Also I will be painting the blood bowl demons team more today so look forwards to some pics of that later tonight as well as my board.

Ok I worked a few more mins of GIMP magic to show a few different ways you could set up a 4X6 board and really there are ALLOT more then just this.

ok time for 500 pictures lol. So what you are about to see is some stages of the Demons over the last 2 days. You will notice their cloth gets changed around to white and the straps to leather by the end. The last images of them are them all done except for their bases and their numbers and the big guy. The other things you are going to see are the boards all framed, a bunch of extra foam I have sitting around for terrain, and then an image of me putting the foam in one of the frames to show it fits in there fairly snugly. Anyway so here are the images what do you all think of the demons so far?

Ok so now that he has seen them all in white he wants them in black lol. So expect pics of that tomorrow or something.

Ok so the winter holiday kept me pretty busy but I was able to paint but not update so I just decided to go ahead and post the completed pictures from the Demon Blood Bowl Team. This should be the final look unless there are any complaints about them but I am pretty sure he will like them and at the most their bases might change a little bit. So here you go. I hope you all like them and please leave comments or criticisms or questions because I love comments and this has been a pretty quite blog compared to my last ones so I don't know if the topic is boring or what so let me know you care <3

All the models have 2 coats of mat sealer on them and then I coated the carapace, horns, tongs, claws, and eyes with a gloss varnish to give them a shine.

Oh right I forgot to mention, The next thing I will be painting will be Dire Avengers so stay tuned for that. Also I need to make like 5 mission objectives for my Eldar army and I would love some suggestions on what to do. I was thinking like 2-3 terminator sized bases and 2-3 troop size bases for the objective markers.
