Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

So I had a think yesterday, when I was busy Ordering 4 Chimeras to be used as Chimeras and Hydras, what if these tanks could be more Modular.
What else could you stick onto the Hull to give more options.
I was going to build the tanks in a way that they are like Modern APCs, with a Rear set turret.
Similar to some on Dakka, and on here:
http://www.theback40k.blogspot.com/2009/07/pimpin-my-rides.html
I forget where I saw the Dakka Ones.
So anyway, with the Addition of the Flak cannons from Bitspudlo:
http://www.bitspudlo.com/products/flak-cannon-platform
I will have myself 4 Interchangeable Hydras/Chimeras, I was wondering, Dakka, what else could I do with a simple turret swap?
I was thinking Mantiores/Deathstrikes to start with.
Now where would I get the makings of these?
And what else could I add on to make other variants?

for Manticores get yourself the tactical missile turrets from Old Crow models. You could also build a flamer turret for Hellhounds.

I do like the Old Crow Stuff, there, That'll be spot on for the Manticores.
I was wondering about getting a Big ole' Squat Barrel to make a Griffon type conversion with a Platform on it's Bottom maybe.
Now I need a Big Missile to make a Deathstrike, I think the Old Crow Turret Would be able to hod it, or a Launch try out of Plasticard would be easy enough to knock up.

forgotten how to link, but have a look in my gallery, missile launchers, ARVs, mineploughs, etc. Most are standard Chimera hull & tracks with a variety of cranes/grabs/racks/rails etc, usually acquired from job lots of "diecast scrapyard" on ebay.
You could also look at model boat parts suppliers who do a load of searchlights/deck guns/winches/radars and so on.
Ebay again, look for old (usually cheap) artillery by Crescent Toys, Lone Star, or Britains. Corgi toys have a rather nice diecast radar trailer (long oop) that fits in a Chimera.

Yes, chimeras are EXTREMELY modular. You should take advantage as much as you possibly can.
So, the chimera chassis is built in such a way where it has slide rails on the inside of the wheel wells in order to be able to slide a basilisk's earthshaker platform in. This means that so long as you only assemble the front and sides of the vehicle, you can mount anything onto a piece of plasticard and slide it right in on the rails.
It's what I did. Whenever I want a new vehicle, I just slide the old vehicle parts off, and make up a new back end and slide it on (those same chimeras also look like this when given a different back section).

I like the Idea of having the options of them being able to be any number of the support weapons, I just wonder will I be able to do this with the idea of having a Rear set turret as well.
The boxes should be here by Christmas and I can get to experimenting when I have the chance, I do wonder if the Hydra cannons would look better higher up.
Anyone know of some good parts that could be used to create a Griffon Mortar, other than building one of out a couple of Bits of pipe?
