For the 15mm market some new scifi minis from Mad Robot.

http://madrobotminiatures.blogspot.com/2011/12/harook-are-loose.html

Fluff:
Very little is understood about the Harook; they are unpredictable and have an unknown agenda. Although they have an affinity to other avian species of alien life, it would appear that they have disdain for all others, especially humanity. Their speech patterns, consisting of a complex series of squawks and screeches, do not seem to live up to the advanced technology they bear on the battlefield. This leads some to believe that an advanced, as of yet unknown, intelligence directs them.

Minis:
These avian aliens come with 10 unique poses to a pack and stand slightly taller than the average human.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Navarro, you sculpted those yourself, didn't you? I recall seeing something akin to those Harook in your blog.

Yup Just posted here the official release hoping to lure scifi fans into the 15mm realms! I'm having more fun with 15mm for the past year than I ever had in 28mm.

28mm still the preferred choice but in these days that minis got so expensive and armies got so big and a hassle to store transport etc I'm finding 15mm quite more practical in all departments and the quality of miniatures in the smaller scales are getting better and better, so they are a challenge for the painter also.

I hope you guys like the chickens in space because they are going to terrorize your farm hummmm I think these would also do well in 28mm like some sort of grots for taus

It's a shame I am at the stage in my life where I understand what model railway enthusiasts go through.

As they get older, they put away the smaller models of their youth and get bigger trains. Eventually leading to the fact that to enjoy their hobby they have to put in a 'Garden Railway' due to failing sight and not being able to appreciate the detail on the smaller stuff anymore.

5-10 years ago, this really would have pulled me into 15mm stuff. The detail is amazing, but I just don't have the confidence that I could paint them to a decent standard at that scale any more.

Still, they deserve to sell well, even if I don't see myself getting any.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Commander sinclair, Babylon 5.

Okay, ultimate compliment time- I thought those were 25mm. VERY good detail for the scale.

Another pebble on the scale swinging towards diving into the world of 15mm strangeness and awesomeness, that just doesn't seem to exist in the same way at 25mm.

Nice work, Navarro! I will say I feel like the hair could've been another color but other than that, I love them.

Also, what size of bases are they on? (15mm, I guess? or maybe 25mm and they're just small on it? Would be cool to see a scale shot)

Mad robot asked me to make Harooks a bit bigger than a 15mm human so this race is about 18mm on average but some like the big bird with the sniper pose and feet on the rock is about 20mm... I think the base size is 20mm.

The world of 15mm is something very different and much more entertaining than the 28mm is today... I may be biased but the way I see it 15mm is exploding with originality atm and its like 28mm was a decade ago... all new concepts ideas and sculpts, companies games poping up and quality raising.

Kroot children with cameras was the first thing that popped into my head.

I'm normally a fan of Navarros stuff but these just do nothing for me. I'll stick with 28mm minis.

Damn! Dont let my sculpts get in the way of your 15mm adventure mate! I guarantee you that there are plenty of cool 15mm stuff going on, whats your take? Fantasy or Scifi? If you want I can PM you some cool links for 15mm stuff.

The sculpts are really good. Even if someone doesn't like the subject matter, the technical sculpting skills demonstrated here are really good.

Nice job on getting deep and clear detail on 15mm miniatures, Navarro.

I myself have in the past gotten some 15mm stuff (Black Raven Foundry's fantasy range), but my current collection includes 28mm, 6mm and 20mm for some historicals. I'm just not sure I want to add in a fourth scale rather than adding more to my 6mm sci-fi.

But it's getting harder and harder to resist! I'm sure some day soon I'll relent.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Thanks mate,
So far I only collected 28mm, 15mm and small 10mm minis for 15mm gaming also, smaller than 10mm the faces start to be really small, but it has its own charm
A couple years ago I collected FOW and man what disappointing models they are, they put me off 15mm because at that time I didnt know they were some of the worst 15mm's .
