Okay, so an interesting situation came up the other day, whereby Kharn failed his leadership test against the mindshackle scarabs and was forced to hit his own unit.

What we were all curious about then is, since Kharn hits enemy units on a 2+ and his own unit on a 1, does this mean the D3 attacks made against his own unit autohit?

Unfortunately I can't really see why they wouldn't, but I was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on this!

If brute force isn't the answer, it's only because you aren't using enough of it.

Mindshackle doesn't force you to make attacks, it makes hits.

Mindshackle scarabs cause d3 hits, not d3 attacks, so you just roll to wound not to hit.

More to another point, does kharn hit himself or the unit he is attached to if he falls the mss check?

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

It's never an issue. Like the other posters say, its auto hits that are generated not attacks.

If he's part of the unit, he hits the unit. Which includes himself, if allocation issues come up somehow.

Incorrect. Kharn is an Independent Character. He is his own unit in assault even if attached to another unit. If he is affected by Mindshackle Scarabs, he can only hit himself.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

The IC would hit himself.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.
