I was look doing some thinking and this might not be new but It is to me. It's very costly but depending on what army you play vs. it could be amazing. You get Obyron with a unit of 5 -10 Lychguard w/ swords and shields, A Lord with a Res. Orb/Warscythe, and Nemesor with a CCB. First turn move Nemesor up with the CCB 12" or whatever you need. Then you Deepstrike Obyron and the unit of Lychguard and lord. over within 6" of Nememso so you can't mishap. Have Nemesor give them counter attack as well. Well now the enemy has a unit that is close to everything he has with 4+ inv. saves and they have to focus most if not everything they have on that unit because it's deadly if they don't. mean while everything else you have can just enjoy not being shot at or anything while they advance.

What do you guys think about this? Costly yes but what a Mind rape this could be.

Ya except when you opponent does...

A. gets in his transports and ignores them because he can keep doing that.

B. dogpiles and rapes your deathstar with the combined might of his entire army, as they will still all be together.

C. Shoots the Nemesor out of the sky when they get first turn 50% of the time.

It looks cool on paper, but the fact that they can't assault when they deep strike is deathblow to their viability.

Ya, I play Crons, what about it?
Also, they are just shiny space zombies with guns.

Yes but to me it's more of a glass cannon. It could take a whole enemy turn to take them out or it could be them going o S&^*. If they get into a tank so what. Obyron and the lord can deal with that. I also said this could be good depending on the army you face. Imp Guard wouldn't like this at all.

But don't you think that seeing as Imp Guard are one of the shootiest armies in the game (if not the shootiest) then they are going to be better equipped to shoot you down before you can assault. If you survive, great, there will be face beating, but in the likely event that you do not, that is a huge chunk of points that has just been blasted away. Deep strike mishaps are a possibility as well.

No deep striking Mishap is not a possibility with Nemesor in play as long as you stay within 6". Yeah Imp guard is going to be shooting all that awesomeness at you. But they have the shields and can Deflect those shots back. Not to mention you have a whole army that they are not shooting at because the way they see it is something like this ( Wow we need to deal with this before it becomes a real problem.) I could be wrong and this could be a terrible Idea. But I really believe it could be a great I'm here deal with me or get dealt with, while the rest of the army is coming at you and you still have to deal with them as well. But like you and others have said this could just be a waste of points and time.

One of my first newcron lists tried this aganst a parking lot IG list. Using a nearby building to block LOS from the bulk of his tanks I was able to successfully have the Lychgaurd survive long enough and with the granted Furious Charge proceed to pop a squadron of Leman Russ and assualt and kill his command squad.

I still lost the match by a few kill points simple beacuse despite the damage I was able to cause the first turn or two after deepstriking they simply drove away and kited the slow lychgaurd. (Nem's CB was blown sky high within a turn)

Cool on paper, but just doesn't work that well. If your going to deepstrike things around the board make it a big blob or warriors or immortals with a lord w/orb and some crypttek for some extra ranged killy and survivibilty.

SHOOT EM! CHOP EM! If they still walkin' they probably cheatin'

Yeah, an IG gunline would probably shoot them to hell (both with tanks and/or heavy-special weapons spam, but a few hundred lasgun shots could do the trick as well... at least I think. Am I correct in assuming they are T 4 or 5?) or mob them with blobs. Or make them unusable with cheap infantry squad speedbumps (you destroyed my squad. So what? You have to face a dozen more as well, before reaching more appetible targets, leaving you stranded, unable to make your points back). Or evade them easily with mechanized forces (I doubt they can reach a chimera or valkyrie/vendetta...).
I think the combo would be best used against more valuable, but still not cc-specialized, gunline units, like tactical marines or fire warriors on foot (not likely to see them, but...). Stay away from cheap, numerous units, like guardsman, ork boys or gaunts, which are likely to be protecting the enemy's front anyway, if s/he gets wind of your idea.

All very good points. I'm going to test this out and I'll post back how it works out.

I play mech guard and if I saw that, I wouldn't care. You just put 725-900 (depending on unit size) at the range that I am best at killing things....and I can easily sit outside of the 6" range and level all of my AP3 or better weapons at you.

All I have to do is inflict 22-33 wounds on the unit and you'll probably fail enough of them that the unit is gone and RP doesn't matter.....or they get seriously reduced in number.

Sure I may end up devoting 75% of my firepower to do it........but that's almost 50% of your army right there.
