I'm trying to find the large square base piece of a necron monolith so I can build one for my brother for christmas. A few years ago, I collected a few necrons, and I bought a monolith, but the box came with twice the glow stick sprues but no base piece, so I never got around to finding the piece and building it and I moved on... But now with the new codex out, my brother is starting to build an army, and I'd like to find this piece so I can build him a monolith. The lists he's thinking of don't use one, but if I never find this piece this monolith might forever go unbuilt, and there's nothing bad about being able to put a monolith on the table if you feel like it, I think he'll enjoy it.

I've searched bitz sites and can't find the base. Does anyone know a bitz shop that has this piece? Thanks in advance! Merry Christmas!

http://hoardobits.com/ has them. Not just the base, so you'll have some extra bits, but it's there.

why not buy the entire monolith then? you could more than likely use other parts elsewhere. There's oodles of vehicles that are not yet produced by GW, could concoct some of them.

You could use your current monolith bits to build some cool terrain pieces. That would be just as cool of an Christmas present as anything. I have a terrain piece where the side pieces are sunk into the side of a cliff to represent the entrance to a Necron tomb that has been excavated. I can post a picture of it later if you like.

Try talking to the GW customer service, they will replace the bit and if not send you an entire set for free. Thats what they did for all my miscast finecast pieces.

Yeah - if it's an actual out-of-box fault then GW should be able to help you. My understanding is that they're very good with anything that's still in production. If you have a miscast model that's OOP, you're SOL, though.
