Hi guys, creating my own space marines chapter and want some advice.
Basically, the chapter mastery now always falls to the most senior chaplain.
Is there a way to incorporate this into thier rule set eg use the chapter master profile but sort of crossing it with the chaplain rules.

also is there a way to give all units Hatred of psykers. obviously i will not have librarians.
Thanks in advance
James

So...
You want to cross the CM profile with the Chaplain profile?
Firstly this should be in Proposed rules... i think.
Secondly, why don't you make a profile and we'll give you feedback on that and you can change it accordingly depending on how you feel about the suggestion.

Secondly, BT codex could be your friend there. I use mine as a chapter master with relic blade and a storm bolter, he's going to have an entourage of Honour Guard with relic blades and a Champion with TH, I plan on modelling them as the old school Reclusiam command squad.

Also, the first part wasn't a jab, I just wanted to show that you are not alone with this fantastic idea.

Alternatively, if you want to use an existing ruleset you could run Counts-As Blood Angels. The Reclusiarch is basically a Captain/Chaplain hybrid, and in terms of a statline is only 1 WS lower than a Chapter Master.

Ooooh thanks for the links SSB
but yeah my fluff has some similarities to yours, when the first chapter master fell, the chaplain took office as CM.
I will have a look at a statline then where should i submit it ( havent been on here for way to long)
right off to statline and rules ideas

I'd agree that Blood Angels or Black Templars would be your best bet, since you get Chaplains with Captain-level statlines. Even Dark Angels can do 3 wound chaplain.s

One idea I toyed around with was using Chaplain Cassius too, he always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside when I read his rules.

There is also Thulsa Kane in IA 9 or 10...he is a beefed up chaplain with a relic blade and some fun rules

Although it really does sound like you want to play black templars

Cassius is pretty damn good compared to other Marine chaplains until you factor in that he can't take Terminator armor or a jump pack.

The thing about Templars is you have to take the Emperor's Champion which grants to access to the Accept Any Challenge vow. This vow let's everyone in your army (basically) re-roll missed to-hit rolls all of the time, not just the turn they assault.

This makes the Chaplains key power (Litanies of Hate) a bit redundant. However, Chaplains do let you chose the direction you Righteous Zeal and let you take Cenobyte Servators, though.

But then i could just take another vow on the emperors champ. so i have litanies running with one of the others
