Chicago Skirmish Wargames is on a roll this week. This time it's a review of figures from Mega Minis. Mostly from their rereleases of Demonblade and Alpha Forge figs, with a few of their proprietary designs as well.

IMHO, Megaminis figures tend to suffer a bit from the basic paintjobs that they recieve on the Megaminis site, so I thought it would be worthwhile to give a review showing them in bare metal. A few teasers...

Enjoy!

I'm from the future. The future of space

Thanks for the review. It's amazing how many out of production ranges they've brought back.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I have a few megaminis around here. I will help add to your review when I dig them up.

IMO I like the minis that Mega Minis has available. Everything is cast to order so quality control is very good. I have only bought from Mega Minis on ebay but am always happy with the prices and service.

lol wow, they sure do look a lot better unpainted than they do with those not-so-great paintjobs on their site.

Cool to see the old Demonblade stuff being done. SHockforce/Warengine is my favorite 28mm game.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too

Glad you all enjoyed the review.

And yet I'm still biting my nails waiting for some of the demonblade figs that haven't been rereleased. Mostly the PAK teams (HW teams) and preacher figs.

Definitely post them here, I'd like to see them.

This was one of my observations as well. If I didn't already have some of the Demonblade figs, the pics online wouldn't have enticed me to buy more.

Ditto. Warengine is my favorite Sci-Fantasy game. When I want something 40k'ish (troopers, monsters, special powers and very effective Close Combat) but more fun and with somewhat fewer figures, I turn to WarEngine.
