I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Holy gak -- I love that model! I think it'd make the 'jacks look silly by comparison.
Only grumble is it has some Cygnaran elements that are a bit out of place.

I generally don't like the whole Warmachine steampunk look but I do like the Khador man o war infantry suits (not the horseback versions though). That one does indeed make for an impressive figure.

I'm sure they're quite busy serving their sentance in the coal mines necessary for running a steampunk world (if my guess on Khadoran politics is correct). 
I'm not sure what I would use it for in my Deathwatch RPG (which would be the reason for me to buy it). An inquisitor in terminator armor? How big are the Man o war figs generally? I've converted the player characters in my campaign to truescale size on 40mm; would a normal human in that armor be bigger than those types?

I've always been of the persuasion that they don't wear mechanical stuff as much as lop off their own flesh and graft it on. It could work though for a particularly vain AdMech who wants the best of both worlds (flesh and metal).

Yes it's a metal model. PP normally makes a note if it's a resi-plastic model, but they're not doing that on UAs for who knows how long, they're only doing resi-plastics for bigger models, primarily 'jacks (and now beasts starting with Legion).
