I've been playing 40k for about a year and decided that my second army would be Daemons so that I could double dip on rule systems. I just finished my first Fantasy game against my son's Skaven army. This is what I have, I just need some opinions as to how to use them and some suggestions for my next few purchases. I bought the Daemon army box and have picked up a few other things, mostly with an eye to using them in 40k games.

Lords:
Lord of Change - Leaning more towards using this guy. Thoughts?
Demon Prince

Core Units:
20x Bloodletters - I plan on 40 strong unit in a horde formation, so I'll probably grab two more boxes of these.
10x Pink Horrors - I'll probably add at least one more box here to bring the unit to 20. Is it useful to get more?
10x Daemonettes - These aren't fully assembled yet as they're not great in 40k. Are they worth the points in Fantasy?

Special:
5x Seekers - Might get one more box of 5

Rare:
6x Flamers - Love these in 40k, they seem decent in Fantasy but not as strong, relatively

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

Any greater daemons are good. Daemon princes are rubish compared to them and should never be used in fantasy. Bloodletters are amazing and should be run in a horde with a herald. all lesser daemons should really be accompanied by a herald. seekers are rubish its better to convert them into fiends. flamers are amazing and are currently broken. horrors should be taken in hordes with a herald. there's two type of way to do this. horde of bloodletters and a lord of change or a bloodthirster and horrors.

2500 points of Iron Hands!
5000 points of Skaven
2000 points of Daemons of Chaos

Adding to the Daemons and Iron Hands ATM!

I'm still pretty unfamiliar with the Fantasy ruleset, but why are the Flamers broken? I've seen this sort of comment before, but I don't see it yet.

The thing with fantasy is there are no 2 HQ choices. You can take however many you want up to a certain point. It's capped at up to 25% lord, 25% hero, 50% special, 25% rare and at least 25% must be core. So a lord of change is 450 pts naked, that's for level 2, after bumping him up to level 4 and a few chaos gifts you are looking at 585-635 so he really isn't going to be viable until 2500pts. A daemon prince is 300 pts naked and is a lord choice as well, after gifts you are looking at more so you can only field both in reality in like 4k games. Heralds are hero choices and are good choices as they do things for your core. A herald of khorne in a unit of bloodletters give them hatred, a herald of tzeentch in horrors increases their ward save to 4+, Herald of slaanesh gives daemonettes the Always Strikes First special rule and a herald of nurgle gives plaguebearers regeneration (which is kinda weak as in fantasy you get a ward save or a regen save and all daemons get a 5+ ward so you are only benefiting from +1 ward and flaming attacks would cause regen to go bye bye that phase). Herald of Tzeentch are a very good choice as they can take master of sorcery giving them access to all the spells in 1 lore. You can even put Skulltaker in with the horrors to take to do challeneges for the Herald or Heralds in the unit as well as having his magic resistance giving the unit (not him) a 2+ ward save against magic. Flamers are very good and some people like Fiends for war machine hunting due to their high movement. Daemonettes are not as impressive for core as they do get 2 attacks in the front rank but only 1 supporting attack, generally Bloodletters do the job better with their WS5 S5 and killing blow with a bonus of hatred for rerolling that first turn, horded out in a unit of 40+ for taking wounds before getting into combat, that first turn is generally all it takes.

The reason why flamers are broken is how awesome they are. They get D6 shots each, a unit of 6 will average 21 shots and they do not suffer the -1 to hit due to multiple shots so they are generally hitting at long range since 18inches isn't much but so you are looking at 4s to hit at S4, so you will get 1-2 turns of shootings maybe the 2nd one they are within 9 inches so you hit on 3s then if you are charged you can stand and shoot again needing 4s but you get the point they provide a crap load of shots. Then once in combat while their WS is low at 2 they will need 4+ to hit they hit at S5 and have 2 attacks each. If you are targetting my bestigor for those 3 rounds thats on average 17 kills from shooting alone which is over 200 pts.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Ahh that makes sense. For some reason we had figured that the entire unit got 1D6 STR4 hits. I've seen the light.
