Greetings Fellow Dakkites, for those of you who know of Battleroad Games and Hobbies LLC we are a Hobby Retail Webstore. As such we are further striving to bring you, the gamers, what you want at great affoardable prices. As such we have switched our full ebay operation to our webstore and after a lot of work I am happy to announce that our bitz section will be launching this Friday on Dec 9th. As such we are starting with just the 40k and will be adding in Fantasy by the end of next month. Reason being it takes time to switch everything over, and we have to rephotograph so thank you for waiting as I promise you won't be disappointed. By the end of Jan you will be able to shop from over 600 different bits up for sale and in the coming months we will be doubling that number to make us one of the most versatile one stop shops for your bits needs. We are also a full fledged web store and sell full box sets as well, from over a dozen different lines. Come January you will also see our own 28mm heroic scale bits starting with several sets of heads that you will be able to purchase at extremely reasonable prices. I have attached a sneak peak of the first set, recently sculpted by Dakka's own Navarro and he is hard at work on another as well. We have also contracted several major sculptors to do even more sets that we will be releasing in the coming months.
-Dec 9th launch of the bits section with 40k.
-Monthly 20% off sales on bits as we have the "Flavor of the Month".
-Full 10% off retail on all products ordered via the webstore and phone orders.
-If you don't see it call us and ask, we may not have it up atm or maybe it's something we should add!
-Finally unlike many other bits sites we will be making weekly restock orders (trust me our distributors already love us) so as to ensure if it's out of stock it will be back in within that week.
So give us a call at 508-251-0397 or shop direct via our webstore at http://battleroadgames.com/ and remember this Friday is the launch so tell your friends.
P.S: The head set shown below we retail at $10.00 for all 9 heads. I am unsure yet if we are doing these as resin or pewter.

Have you considered rearranging your sets?
I see they're offered as a full set of 9, but can they be ordered in sets of 3?
Have one set of Gas Masks heads.
Have one set of "I can recognize human features" heads.
Have one set of grotesque abominations heads.
They look great actually, but you may appeal to the "I only want gas masks" crowd by not offering only one per set.
Do them in the lowest-cost material that you can find. People oftentimes value resin for its workability, but it's doubtful anyone will be cutting into heads.
As an aside, I <3 Navarro's work. Good choice.

Having them here with me I actually think the pictures don't really do the heads justice. What we can do, no garuntees atm but I will chat with the team, is have it two ways. The first will be a purchasable set as a whole for the $10. Then I can also have a "Buy them Solo" type deal but you would be paying about $1.25 per then (not sure off hand but it would be around that). Good thought though I like it, and I for one am excited too see what he comes up with next.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Congrats on moving to the webstore!
The heads look great, I particularly like the buying individual heads option, as several don't really do anything for me. Could we buy 9 individual heads to get the same $10 deal?
Hope everything has smoothed out for you, I'll certainly check out the store on Friday!

Saddly no as some of the heads will sell better then others(I like them all but that is the way of the world) so were we to say "buy any 9 for $10" then long term it will cause... problems for us. We will be doing individual it looks like and singles as this is something most people don't do. Also I can confirm now that the heads will be cast in pewter, btw we are always looking for ideas on what people want too see so if you have something really cool let us know and if we end up doing it then you will get plenty of sets for free (like 10-20)!

Have you got a release scedual layed down for your inhouse miniatures, or are you going to be just putting them out whenever you think they quality's high enough for release? Have you considered selling bits bags like other stores sell too? Or would that be something you'd do at a latter date, if ever?
Your headset's pretty neat. The style's in keeping with what's being thrown around in the media right now, and would really complement quite a few company's ranges. Will they come with neck pieces, or would putty be required?
Oh and if your looking for ideas then maybe consider creating some hazardous enviroment troopers in the style of the Norts from the 2000AD series Rogue Trooper (your head set just made me wish for some classic sci-fi). Heh, I could spam you with sketches of ideas for random sci-fi figures, but I think that'd just be unproductive. There's a lot of things that could be suggested, but the problem is determining if the reason the thing's aren't already out there is because only a few people want them-. =P
...And goggles are good. ...Any plans for head sets with lots of snazy goggles? ^^

-Our plan is very simple for the time being on releases of our own personal bits. As they sell buy more sculpts, and only insure that we put out a top notch quality over just trying too bust out any old thing. You may see heads every month it may be every other month. You may start seeing weapons etc who knows! The one thing we have no intention of doing nor will we ever is bases and that is actually a very simple explanation as too why. Lots of companys do them and they do them extremely well. That is not too say that customizable bits aren't done well but on that we all have something different that we can bring to the table. Several months ago when we put out the call for sculptors we went through..... a lot to try and find ones whos artistic styles matched up with what we wanted. As such the sculptors are given the basic peramiters and then let loose. They have full free reign without micro managing. We do this so that our vision with the sculptor having a ton of fun comes through in the work.
Your headset's pretty neat. The style's in keeping with what's being thrown around in the media right now, and would really complement quite a few company's ranges. Will they come with neck pieces, or would putty be required?
-There is little necks on them they just don't show in the pic atm. Our sculptors are very carefull about how they do the necks actually as we want customizable parts for any line the customer wants too use them in. If we do certain style necks we would actually be pushing the IP boundary and have no desires too do that. That is the 1 rule we have with our sculptors is no IP violation of any kind and they agree.
Oh and if your looking for ideas then maybe consider creating some hazardous enviroment troopers in the style of the Norts from the 2000AD series Rogue Trooper (your head set just made me wish for some classic sci-fi). -Always happy too look into that. At Battleroad we believe actually that the only dumb idea is one not mentioned and that is unproductive to us. If we get a flood of emails with sketches etc GREAT!
...And goggles are good. ...Any plans for head sets with lots of snazy goggles? ^^
-Saddly most likely not reason being that would very easily push into other companies realms, but that does not mean we won't work to find a way too do some heads that will not infringe on others IP.

I do have some suggestions for improvements to the site, after looking at the bits section.
1.) The site doesn't make very good use of space. At 1920x1200, it's just a strip in the middle with around 60% of the screen being whitespace. It looks like the current site is optimized for 1024x768, a resolution used by less then 5% of users on the Steam Hardware survey.
2.) Looking at the bits themselves is rough because the pictures are tiny. 250x200 is far too small for an expanded image. These images should be at least doubled and really, quadrupled. Granted, most of the people looking at bits probably already know what they want, but I was trying to find a specific bit in the store and I couldn't tell if it was in the pictures or not.
Best of luck with the store - more third party bits are always nice. The heads are off to a great start.

Website improvement is something we are always working towards though saddly atm it takes second seat if you know what I mean. Once we have our full ebay store transfered over we will be looking into small webstore improvements, but thank you Ouze and in the future just pm us with your thoughts as it's easier for me too manage and get down the feedback.

At the request and as a thank you for his hard work our Web guru(briancj here on dakka) has asked that for this weekend we do free shipping on $25 or over so we are going too give him this wish (cheaper then a bonus!). Also during the month of Dec. you will be able too get free giftwrapping (I worked at Neiman Marcus giftwrap for years don't worry) with request, also as an opener we are going too put in a discount code for Dakka exclusive. An addition 15% off on the webstore or phone in order(just mention where you saw this) by using the code: DDBRGH11 . This is everything and I mean everything in the store!

Ouze,
Thanks for the feedback. Could you PM it to me, when you see this? It'll help me plan my optimization strategy.
Also, re; image sizes. Yeaaaaaaahhhhhh I re-sized everything WAYSMALL in order to get the site up and running ASAP. I'll make a better resizing/firing pass so that when you click on 'larger image' you actually get a larger image.
Thanks!

Looking good.
Will probably buy bits from you once they are released.
Suggestion:
How about "normal" guardsmen heads - but with battle scars/wounds?
It would be great to be able to build troops that look as they have been to hell and back, when making veterans and cultists.
I.e. normal (but hard looking) trooper heads with one eye socket crudely stitched shut, burn marks on half the face, teeth missing, bandaged, metal plates in heads etc.
All in Cadian/Catachan size of course.
Also, IG-sized arms holding mechanical tools such as welding gear, spanners, circular saws, angle grinders, etc.
Would be fun to build both support crews doing maintenance - and using their gear in close combat.

I was looking at the bits I'd be interested and noticed that a number of the photos are broken. Specifically in the Eldar bits section there isn't a photo for Guardian Torsos (among other things).
EDIT: Chaos Space Marine section doesn't appear to have a single functioning picture. Given the descriptions don't actually list the contents, how do we determine what the price is for? Are the listed prices per unit for the entirety of what is pictured?

You may want too check your connection as here and there we have no pics up for certain items as we didn't have them in stock at the time we were taking pictures so they are getting added here and there, but most people haven't had that problem that you are so I would think it's a connection issue by in large saddly.

I thought about things such as these but several problems came about.
1.) That would almost triple what I have in possible bits sales inventory wise.
2.) Things such as this can start too cause problems with overflow excess bits that people won't buy. For our random bits bags we try to insure that people get bits they will want and use, not just our trailings.
3.) Overall costs is a big issue in bits because we need too insure you the customer are getting a good deal as well as we are making the money too keep us in business. Bits sales is a massive undertaking and atm there is only 3 people on staff with 2 on call part timers. A lot of companys don't like too do bits because of the dedication it takes too doing them. 1 battleforce can take between 20-40 minutes too break down to our sales lvl depending on which for it is.
@Alph: You earned a cookie!
BTW short release news about the set of heads: We are looking at mid January, maybe late due too holidays, for a release date on those. Two more sets by the end of Febuary, and then we will be adding in a set of wings, and some historical 28mm heads that I think people will like. I don't want too give a hint too set #3 but I will say this. You have yet too see a set like this out there on the market! Also to the person who suggested workers wrenches etc that was great up until you said for IG models. I will restate right now that we will not now nor will we ever build models or conversion bits specifically for another companys products without the express permission of that company. This is in direct violation of IP laws and my lawyers have said too stay away from it, and both our manufacture and sculptors are adamit about not committing theft. I do appriciate your suggestion and it was great but that's a road I just won't travel.

Hi there guys,
I just wanted to share my experience with Battleroad Games when they were on Ebay. Long story short, I was impressed with the range and pricing of what they had on offer, and made a fairly large bits order (which came to around $56 USD, including shipping to my home in New Zealand). One of the things that could go wrong along the supply chain did go wrong (could have been US Post, or NZ Post, or customs, or who knows what) and the order never turned up. Battleroad Games said they were happy to do a reship or a refund, and we were still going through the process when the Ebay store shut down. I've since heard from Empchild (the store owner) about why the store shut down and it seems to have been an unfortunate matter that was outside his control (and seems to have had more to do with Ebay themselves stuffing up).
Anyway, I'd pretty much given up hope of getting a refund when the store shut down, but I realised that Empchild was a dakkaite and sent him a PM to talk about it. I realised that I probably didn't have a leg to stand on legally speaking, since I was in another country and the Ebay store I purchased from was no longer operating.
I think that the real test of a business' customer service is what they do when something goes wrong, because that can and does happen for every business, especially retail and ESPECIALLY online retail with international shipping added into the mix. After establishing that I genuinely hadn't received my order, Battleroad Games were happy to refund me - even though the fact that the order didn't turn up probably wasn't their fault, and even though there was no way I could have really enforced my consumer rights while on the other side of the world.
So I've come out of this with a very positive experience of Battleroad Games, and I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone. Because they go the extra mile for customer service, and because Empchild who runs it seems to be a very good dude and we should support businesses like that.
So thanks Empchild, and long live Battleroad Games :-)

You may want too check your connection as here and there we have no pics up for certain items as we didn't have them in stock at the time we were taking pictures so they are getting added here and there, but most people haven't had that problem that you are so I would think it's a connection issue by in large saddly.
I've tried 3 different connections on two different computers and the same photos are coming up as broken links in all cases. Is anyone else having the same problem where every image in the Chaos Space Marine section is either a broken link or the "Trolls ate it" image?

The "Trolls Ate it" means we didn't have pics at the time of it all. We are working too add those in over time as for the rest I am getting no reports but we will look into them.

The "Trolls ate it" image doesn't concern me, as it's pretty obvious it's a place-holder for whatever reason.
I'm just concerned about the links that are broken, that are to images that don't appear to exist.
As an example, here are three links.
http://www.battleroadgames.com/store/images/Bits/IMG_1000.jpg - The "Trolls ate it" image.
http://www.battleroadgames.com/store/images/Bits/IMG_1484.jpg - 40K Eldar Dire Avengers Heads, no problems for me.
http://www.battleroadgames.com/store/images/Bits/IMG_1480.jpg - Should be " 40K Eldar Guardian Chests", but for me is a Page Not Found.
I've checked through multiple connections and computers, so unless it's a Japan thing I wouldn't think the problem would be connection related.
