Avid GW hobbyist here thinking that Warmachine looks kinda of cool. I know nothing about the game, but I'm thinking of do a Cryx army though since they look cool. Any tips(or threads with tips in them you could point me to) about the armies/game for a newbie?

You could do worse than read this article in Dakka Articles about building a cryx army from battlebox http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Starting_with_the_Cryx_Battlebox .

Basically you can go forward in two ways: either get the battlebox or start collecting with different caster than Deneghra by buying all of the figs separately. Good sources for information for beginner are PP's forums and Battle College. When you have decided on the caster you are starting with we can give you suggestions on list.

well, i had this desision last month, but i coundnt decide, GW or Warmachine, in the end i went for warmachine cos of the price rises at GW, i would say go for it and join warmachine, for cryx i would recommend the battlebox
