My gaming group and I are starting a campaign and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good rules for naval combat (besides dreadfleet) that would coincide well with warhammer

Hm. If you've got the right races, I'd recommend 'The Uncharted Seas' by Spartan Games.

*I should probably cover the races they've got in the game, and correlating US factions:

Dragon Lords - Dark Elves
Imperial Humans - Empire/Bretonnia
Iron Dwarves - Dwarves
Thaniras Elves - High/Wood Elves
Orc Raiders - Orcs/Goblins
Bone Griffons - Tomb Kings

Now, the two tougher ones would be the Shroud Mages (dark magic-using dwarves) and the Ralgard (oriental-ish).

You could probably swing Chaos with the Shroudd mages (their fleets look nasty enough) and probably Skaven with the Ralgard (since they have a semi-oriental theme).

The rules are pretty good, and are on their second (I believe) edition. It's definitely a 'buckets of dice' game (something GW-game players should love!). Additionally, each fleet has its own deck of cards that can be incorporated into the game, adding addition faction based attacks/defenses/actions. For example, the Elves have a lot of magic attack cards, while the Dwarves have 'anti-magic' defenses.

You might try an historical ruleset for galley warfare, and add your own rules for magic.

In fact you could just make up your own rules.

Naval combat in 28mm scale? Do you have mobiles or two way radios for communication between the players?
Boarding action is classic skirmish though.

I would think people are splitting up the sets on ebay, right? Perhaps you can get the rules as a stand-alone that way...
