Whilst I understand it isnt possible for a Cryptek Ovelord to be fielded in keeping with the Necron codex the fluff thjat I have been working on involved the Crypteks of my tomb world taking a more active role in the guidance and leadership of their empire. To this end I have been crafting a cryptek that looks older and more senior than those around him, postulating that he has over time made "improvements" to his necron shell, trying to perfect his form rather than aspiring to return to his previous mortal nature.

Heavy shield reinforcement beams have been assembled over his previously exposed spine to protect him from all angles, his neck stalk has been extended to provide better viewing angles to oversee those below him and he wields both his original staff of light along with a Tesseract Labyrinth Rod, weaponising his previous attempts to destroy the last of the C'tan seeking to control his soon to be "perfected" species.

For game purposes he will have the Phaeron special rule

Cheers, I was going through a period of paranoia after lots of views but no comments. I'm now regretting assembling the shell before painting though. Getting paint underneath will be q struggle.

Hmm. Maybe and airbrush would help, now you have put the cage on? You could do a fancy glow effect.

I like how you gave him the hunch back look by extending his neck. Now that you have done that you could give him the Pharaoh's type beard, I am sure there must be a bit from the sprues you are using. As I did not extend the neck on mine, I was unable to do such a thing. Either way very cool!

Will attempt a beard tonight and see what comes of it. Past attempts have looked too hairy to be Egyptian (see primed lord pic for reference)

I'm having to hold off on an airbrush till after xmas so I think this guy will sit unpainted till then, the glow idea is cool though, is that kind of thing easy with an airbrush? need to refresh my paint collection to find a suitable glow colour, I just have a limited selection of paints required for my paint scheme (bare minimum)

I am thinking less organic looking. I was looking at the cutting off parts of the hyperphase sword myself. Idealy i would want a necron symbol somewhere on the beard.

Your model though, so if you like it then great !
