I got mb:w last friday and I gotta say it's pretty badass.

There just couple things that I don't get.

First how do you beat nords in sieges when they are defending. I attacked one casttle with nords inside and they pwned me and my knights.

Second is there a way to render enemy vassals useless (other than locking them in a prison) as I find it very annoying that surranid emirs burn down my villages with 20 man peasant forces they have (surranids have no land). Maybe if I could remove surranids from existance.

Third do vassals ever give up? I mean I have about 5 persuation, bigger army, more experienced army and they like me (enemy vassals are supportive towards me) and they still want to fight to the death? Why no one picks surrender option?

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Nords are very difficult to beat whilst defending, unless you have Nords of your own, backed up by some Rhodok sharpshooters, it will always be very difficult. You will need alot men to do it.

The best way to stop raiding parties is to take a small group of knights with you and hunt them down, its time consuming but its the only to stop them. Vassals of an enemy will stop being a problem once you have taken all their lands. When they are next defeated they will not respawn. Once all the vassals are defeated the faction will be defeated.

Hopes this helps.

Don't use knights to assault castles. The strength of knights lies in their mounts, if possible, use Nords of your own (they are very much overpowered in Huscarl form, Nord archers should never be trained unless you're aiming for a full Nord character; Huscarls can take out practically anything, and even when outnumbered can hold their own very well, their high armour renders ranged units all but useless against them (unless you're facing an army of Vragyr (or whatever, been a while since I played) Marksmen or Sarranid Master Archers, but even they struggle and will fold once you reach combat).

To assault a castle, ideally you want Huscarls, a good number of them. If you don't have them, train some; if you can't train any, then Rhodok Sergeants are your next best bet. Knights should be the last choice before you start throwing weaker troops in. For weaker troops, again, Nords are the best, but it evens out with the other factions a bit.

You will also want archers, preferably Marksmen or Master Archers, since they're the two best foot archers in the game. Sit them on a hill or high point and space them out a bit, and have them riddle the defenders with arrows. There is a small thing you can take advantage of with archers, in that if you take an army of them and assault a castle, simply keeping them back and having them shoot until they all run out of arrows, then retreating and attacking again will eventually wear down the enemy without many casualties.

Assaulting Nords is never easy, but it is doable. You just need to essentially out-huscarl them and throw your best melee and ranged troops at them; anything less will fold once they reach the walls. Just remember that Nord archers are the weakest archers in the game, so don't be afraid of ranged fire much.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I'm not sure if that works because every time I bother to beat up sultan hakim he still lives to annoy me although the fights have always been my 100+ knights vs 0 (lol).

That means I'm screwed because I'm currrently at war with rhodoks and nords. I guess I just beat them up on the field then until peace is made.

If you cant currently get Rhodok sharpshooters, Swadian sharpshooters can work in their place

Also, I have no problem with using knights in castle sieges (both attack and defend) as they are the same thing as the swadian sergeants. Of course, I have 30-40 knights in my force, so numbers usually win, especially at the bottle neck of a castle.

Ok I managed to get some get some huscarls (about 70+no huscarl nords) via hiring prisoners and from one village which I had captured in an earlier war with nords (I managed to get it with around 500 soldiers as I was a marshall for a day). Rest of my forces were random elite archers (sarranids, vaegirs and some rhodoks). This creates a new problem because I have massive amount of nords in my army the morale lowers so low that people start deserting the army so I lose about 5 nord every 24 hours (building a siege tower takes 2 days) and they fight poorer than normal so I lose about half of my nords for one castle.

I'm seriously considering using cheats now as those nord vassals can recruit armies faster than I, they don't suffer morale problems and if they capture one casttle and put some dudes in it (more than 30 so that I can't talk them out) I nor my fellow vassal can recapture it. Also swadia is now war with everybody including the one man army sarranids. To make things extra difficult even recruiting swadians is difficult as every village is burning.

Seriously this game doesn't like me very much.
