My friend and I are going in on a stater set. Hes going to take the other army, and im taking Khador. So my question is, what unit or warmachine should i also buy to synergize with it? Also how many points is the starter set army?

I would play a few games before deciding on buying anything in addition to what comes with it.
20 points will give you plenty of variation.

You can generally trust buying a unit of Widowmakers since they are very useful and FA 1, which means you only need to worry about having one unit of them. They cost 4 army points I believe, which pushes you closer to that 35 mark, which is what is usually played. ( You can play whatever you want though )
They'd also help you get used to using terrain and stuff. They're good with forests and the like, and synergize fairly well with pSorscha.

the 2 warhakcs in the box are enough for sorscha to run, she doesnt have a lot of focus to push around so 2 is a decent number. if your looking for stuff to fill out to 35 points and your just starting out, i would look at a few khador staples:
wardog - a 1 pt warcaster attachment gives your caster a boost in defense in melee and makes them immune to free strikes. wardog is seen in 80% of all khador lists.
winterguard - the infamous winterguard form one of the best toolbox units in the game. a pretty hefty investment if your kitting out a max unit (10 man plus UA and 3 rocketeers plus kovnik joe which is a solo) will run you 13 points, but you get a unit that can handle most anything on the table. they can tarpit, take down heavy targets or deal with swarms of infantry.
great bears - a character 3 man unit for 5 points. these guys hit like mack trucks, i generally reach for the great bears when i need a cheap beater unit that can play a flank well, or play as a second wave unit.
mechaniks - you know what is more annoying then dealing with heavy khador armor? dealing with khador armor that heals. for 2 points you can get 4 mechaniks that can repair your warjacks. i find mechaniks to be invaluable, they saved me so many times they usually get a spot in all my lists.
after this stuff i would look at a second caster. sorscha is a bit of a "one trick" pony. its a decent trick, but i prefer a more rounded caster. irusk and butcher (both prime) are my go to casters for support, while i like strakhov for blitzing. a second caster choice is up to you, but the starter box is really sweet for prime butcher since the MOW can help block LoS to him, and he can fuel multiple jacks in melee thanks to full throttle. plus he likes all the stuff i listed above.
hope i helped.

The Battlebox is never going to hurt. The Juggernaut and the Destroyer are fething tanks. The Warcaster you get in it. Is quite good as well. But I would say that Kommander K is on another level

I would start with aquiring the Khador faction book and perusing it a bit. If you see something fits your style of play then pick it up. If you really want to have some fun buyassemblepaint a beast 09 and start charging it through the front lines of some infantry.

The single most important unit in your army is your warcaster. pSorcha is generally considered a weaker warcaster, as she's mainly an assassination focused warcaster and not good at attrition or scenarios.
An easy warcaster to learn is pButcher, who is basically a jack himself, has a decent amount of focus, and for a very limited spell list has some excellent spells.
Expanding on what you have if you go with pButcher, I would add the full Winterguard Infantry Deathstar, which is a 10 man WGI unit, the UA (officer and standard bearer), 3 rocketeers, and the solo character Kovnik Joseph Grigovich (sp?). This runs you 13 points, but gives you 16 models with 24 health, decent strength shooting and sprays, defense 17 with bob'n'weave and iron flesh active, as well as tough. When you're ready to unload, Kovnik Joe can give you boosted attack rolls, you'll have both combined melee and combined ranged attacks, and the standard bearer allows you to shoot spray attacks (good for multiple light units or for units in melee).
The WGIDS (winterguard infantry death star) is a solid tool box of infantry, able to handle almost anything in the game.
You can get the entire WGIDS for less than $100 from The Warstore or other discount retailers.
The starter set comes with 25 points worth of models, and a caster that gives +5 warjack points, so is typically considered a 20 point list. It also works well with pButcher.

I think that you may be getting pButcher confused with Karchev. Karchev is basically a man in a Jack and has 5 WJP.

No, Karchev *IS* a warjack. pButcher is just effectively a warjack. pButcher also has Iron Flesh, which Karchev doesn't. Karchev doesn't support infantry well.
