I couldn't find a thread for this, if I've overlooked it please post a link and I'll look at it. My question is, if a squad with psykotroke grenades charges a squad of grey knights and rolls a 6, does the justicar or KOF have to fail his test for me to activate the NFW. The description says they attack "exactly as if on my side" so I'm just wondering where/when/and how I'd be able to activate my opponents NFW.

This sounds like the necron mind scarab discussion. Thing is it only says they attack. For the nfw to go off you have to wound. So then you must decide do you control them even after they have already attacked and wounded. I would say no but others may disagree.

You cannot force them to take a psychic test.

Necron scarabs say something like D3 hits using weapon bonuses, while the GK dex says they attack exactly as if on your side. If they on my side, I'm gonna use everything available, wouldn't you?

nfw happens AFTER they wound so you'd no longer control them.

So technically you just roll the to hits. The rule says that models that fail must stike blows.....exactly as if they were on your side. Then it talks about allocating wounds, so I guess techincally you would only roll for hits and your opponent would allocate and roll to wounds since they grenade chart doesn't say when you lose control and the model reverts back to your opponent.

All it says is they make attacks against their own unit. Not anything after so you have to assume thats as far as the control goes and technically its a hallucination not mind control. But regardless purifiers being hit back would be sad since more squads are below 7 models and get no save.

So I roll the to hits, and make my opponent roll the wounds, effectivly making him kill his own guys. I like the idea

Plus the wounds are allocated to the entire squad not just those attacking their own squad. So you could effectively control 2-3 and have them kill their own squad before the non effected get a chance to attack. Those grenades are devastating. The roll of 4 and 5 with em are great too.. 4 drop their leadership to 2, 5 reducing their iniative to 1 for the ENTIRE assault.

Yea, I use them with Rad grenades, inq, and henchmen squad. I laugh when the inquisitor gets off hammerhand and looks like a CC god against the unit they charged.

I've always had my opponent roll the attacks against their own unit from Psychotroke Grenades.
