I recently took advantage of the pre-Christmas deal GZG is running for their stuff by picking up a couple of fleets for Full Thrust - FSE and NSL. (It's a great deal, btw - you get a little goodie bag depending on what you bought. I got a FSE battleship to match the NSL one I bought, and then 2 variant destroyers for both factions!)

Anyway, I'm a little 'meh' on the bases - personal taste, nothing against the ones that came with the models. I'm looking for some alternate hex flight stands that are magnetic - meaning you can pull the model off of the stand, for storage and transportation purposes.

Any favorites or companies that make these?

I've been thinking of getting these for ACTA: Star Fleet..

Check out Corsec Engineering:

Their Omni Stand system might be what you are looking for; rather than magnets, the system uses threads to attach the stem to both the base and model, allowing you to store the whole thing flat. Bases can be had in all kinds shapes and sizes, so you can probably find one that works. They also have optional ball adapters that you can use to allow your ships to bank and pitch.

Thanks for the info, guys.

I've actually got a small idea thanks to a BoLS article I saw. It includes the bases that came with the models, these:

and appropriately sized rare-earth magnets.
