Hey all,
Brand new to the forum. i was sort of into 40k when i was younger, bought a codex and 5 figures, but never played. now am a little older and want to paint them. i did have a question for everyone out there.... how did everyone find their first painting experience with miniatures as compared to weeks/months/ years down the road? while i didnt expect to be great at it right away, despite all the online videos and forums i look at there is something missing! anyway, i know its all about practice, im just curious to hear other stories about how you came along.

Welcome to dakka! I remember that for years, I almost never touched my plastic models, then started to experiment a bit with basecoating on WWII tanks. Eventually got the courage to try other things when I got into 40K.
