so im new to warhammer 40k in general but to the orks specificly. to not help the matter i love buying and putting together models even if i cant really use them. i was hoping to create a army list to field some of those future plethera of models, for elites i love kommandos and tank bustas as well as burnas i was wondering how good are these units, generaly. i also have no preferance for heavy support and would love some opinions on those.
as for fast attack i like the idea of deffkoptas and warbikes together in the field, would this be a good tactic? i also like boy mobs of 20+ would smaller be better? and are the heros better for HQ's or just general ones

thanks for any and all help, i would really appreiciate it

are you going to keep talking about it, or do something already?

Firstly all models can work in an ork army which will be good for you. However all units in a list need to all work together which isn't so good for you.

Commandos are good if you take Snikrot.
Burnas are good in a Battlewagon.
Tankbustas are good if you can shelter them from being slightly kited, i.e. in a trukk or a battlewagon you'll be fine.
Deffkoptas work well as suicide units.
Bikers are good to fill gaps in lines though they stop you taking antitank in the form of koptas and buggies.

Let's say you want to spam either trukks, kanz, battlewagons, boyz or shooty stuff.

So if you boyz in large mobs they you will want a few battlewagons to hold 20 boyz and then other units. If you want more than 20 boyz then you'll want anything footslogging - this can roughly come in three forms -9 kanz to form a kan wall, -loads of big guns and lootas, -loadz of boyz charging forward.

That covers the heavy section as you want rocket kanz, kannons and battlewagons with deffrollas to fit in with an army and to provide antitank. Looted wagons look cool, maybe you could get away with one.

HQs most of the time you'll to take a kff, you other choice is really an extra which needs to fit a list. This means special characters do not often get a look in.
