Decided to pick up dystopian wars. Looks fun, and it is now part of the local gaming store league play. Here are some pics of the set as i work on them and complete them.

Does the league do ground combat as well? Or just the naval stuff?

For now, just naval. The game is just starting to catch on here in central Texas where I am.

Still working on other ships. Working on one of the small squadrons of ships. should be done in a day or two. Sort of hard to work this small of a scale when you are use to 40K.

I think that depends on what you're doing. At smaller scales you can get away with doing less work, at it'll still look good with the meter-rule. It's why I enjoy painting Flames of War so much.

But get those other ships up, and encourage the other players to get into land battles! Have you seen the Prussian land carrier?

It is true, alot less painting. I am just getting use to the scale is all. I will have more pics up soon enough.

Few more pics. Messing around with one aircraft. Figured I would do "sky cammo" on the underside just for fun. Only 6 small boats to go and a few minor hits on the mid size ships.

The Land Carrier is kind of neat, but the treads don't look right to me. Maybe it's the small scale, but they just don't look distinct enough to be treads, just a big base with some detail grooves on it.

Part of that is due to the way that Spartan is sculpting these things as one piece, with the treads included. They don't look too bad when they are based, though. Here is one of mine:



Anway, the bombers are looking good! I need to get around to painting my PE bombers...I haven't had a need to use them yet, since I usually go for the Pflicts!

Nice land ship.

I thought about investing into the land aspect of the game, but won't be fore some time.
