Would plague and virus weaponry be capable of destroying them or would they be able to adapt against this?

I don't think it would wipe them out, but the tyranid codex also shows that they actively avoid plague worlds. It won't kill them, but it hurts enough to not be worth the bio mass.

Its a Chaos God's power vs the Tyranid ability to adapt. I would think the Plaguefather would be more powerful then the ability to adapt, although he probably likes Nids because it lets him try new diseases

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Nurgle makes plagues, the Tyranids would adapt. Nurgle would get pissed off and make another plague, Nurgle would adapt.

The lack of Warp-based psychic presence and indeed souls for the Tyranids means the Gods of Chaos won't ever give a gak about them though.

They're organic, it's a disease. It would probably work okay. The disease would adapt, the Nids would adapt, and so on and so on.

if it were a bio-engineered virus or something along those lines, then yes the nids would just evolve right through it without slowing donw, but this is Nurgle. Its war-contagion. Lokk at what other warp contagions have done, best example is the legion of the damned. It took basic marines, and turned them into idestructable monster ghosts (in the fluff). Now, while that wasnt a Nurgle Plague, it still represents the power of a warp based disease. If the tyranids were struck with a Nurgle Plague, a truely powerfull one, it could potentially work its way through the tyranid warp shadow, all the way back to the hive mind itself, and once the Hive Mind goes down, the rest of the tyranids are just a legion of fresh corpses to be stacked up around the 40k battlefeilds. its all theoretical fluff though, it could never work in game

I've long considered putting together a tyranid force that has consumed a nurgle plague world and was corrupted. Just from a modeling standpoint I think it would be a fun project. Then again every other day I think of ideas for yet another existing 40k army to be converted to be corrupted by Nurgle...so I think I need to this at least once to get it out of my head!

I would think that you could kill a 'nid swarm with plague and virus weaponry, but if any of the 'nids escaped with the infection I could see the hive fleet adapting to it and being able to resist it the next time.

Anyone else notice how paradoxical this is?

I guess if he really tried, Nurgle could kill them, but he doesn't really want to.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

Wouldn't nurgle be more interested in a disease that the nids would be carriers for but not affected by? That way they could spread the disease throughout the imperium of man?
