Now, I am a fairly easy going guy. But nothing steams me up like people attacking stuff that I love who don't know nothing about it ; attacking GTA for violence is one thing, but watching this for the first time was one of those moments that left me fairly flabbergasted as it seemed like basically no one had any idea what it was they were critiquing - for all of your benefits. one of my favorite pieces of the internet.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

pretty sure we already see women as objects of desire before video games even existed. Lol worthy... the only point she has has nothing to do with sex, its violence and that it is desensitizing the population, But its just hilarious how they think "They can't tell the difference between real life and the game'' that's parenting not the video game/ companies fault. Second problem is this is fox news..

Oh yay, another idiotic fox news article proclaiming that gaming is omgwtfendoftheworldcatastrophicalicious.

Mass Effect 1 had one (1) such scene, yes, though they were dimly lit and artistically posed and not what I'd call pornographic.

Not really. Fox news was talking out of their asses.
Basically, if you pursue the dialogue enough with one of the NPCs through the story there's a brief cutscene towards the end where your character is on the bed with them naked, but you don't see any nipples, vaginas or penises and there isn't any "action".
I'm interested how Fox news will react to Mass Effect 3, where it's confirmed to have gay romances. I think they might explode.

As I said-- fully nude sex scene... but not pornographic

Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton are the same way, any politician that comments on videogames will usually be anti-videogame and include some variation of "think of the children".

Wow, lame this was a great opportunity for Bioware to be real edgy and push the boundaries of what is considered acceptable in video games but they chickened out, still I hear the game is actually good so I might
pick it up to actually play it.

Yeah, because we've never seen any other news site put up a similar article. Seriously, they all pull this crap and it's just as lame when CNN or CBS News, or NBC News does it, too.

1st - dude from spike (Jeff) - Like a boss. You could tell he was just rolling his eyes the entire time and getting frustrated nobody was listening
2nd - 4:20-4:30 "You have to pick up the box and look at the rating, you have to be involved..." she says like its a chore.
3rd - 5:15-5:40 talking about picking up "dads video game" ... my parents had Terminator, Terminator 2, various other very violent movies (lets face it, 80's action movies kicks ass compared to newer ones in regards to violence and nudity) , but they would either hide those movies, or keep it in their room and i KNEW NOT TO GO IN THERE OR WATCH THOSE MOVIES WITHOUT THEM when growing up.
Jesus, bad parents are just bad...
Also Mass Effect shows alien butt at the worst.. zomg... *rolls eyes*

I really don't understand the relevance of this, or the earlier comment - I wasn't posting this as breaking news, just sharing a personally poignant piece of history with people who may not have seen it. Did it seem like that was what I was going for?

The best thing about this story isn't what was said, I think most rational people expect fox news to spew crap out of their mouth like it's going out of style. The best part was the fact that the woman bashing ME 1 had a book being released in a week or two so a bunch of ME fans got on amazon and gave it 1 star reviews. They basicly repeated what she said, they didn't read the book but they knew enough to know it was bad. She issued an apology shortly there after.

Ah.. internet magic, how I love you.
On a side note, I love how one of their arguments is that the game objectifies women, where the whole point of it is that you actually need to build up an entire relationship and all that before getting that let down of a pron scene. The game is pretty much doing the opposite, but let's ignore that fact!
Anyhow, giving Fox news any attention, be it good or bad, isn't worth it. They thrive on that and the best option is to just ignore the nutter.

That right there is a problem on the internet. We latch onto something completely stupid to make fun of it and it gets posted everywhere, then uninformed people see it and make an opinion on how the story we are bashing must be true, since everyone on the Internet is mean and rude.
It happened with the 5/21 rapture guy (twice) this year. Those wouldn't have been talked about near as much had people on forums(like us) completely ignored it (or if every tom dick and harry didn't bash it in every OT forum all over the interwebs)
