Hey, I had a thought about a crazy Outflanking army list with Creed and Al'Rahem. Tell me if it sucks, or if it has potential ect. I'm looking to have fun, but still be competitive. Thanks. Here it is:


CCS: Creed, Astropath, Body Guard = 185

Ministorum Priest: Eviscerator, Shotgun = 60 (First Platoon)

Ministorum Priest: Eviscerator, Shotgun = 60 (Second Platoon)

Storm Trooper Squad: 2 Meltas = 105

Storm Trooper Squad: 2 Meltas = 105

Marbo = 65

Platoon 1

PCS: 4 Grenade Launchers = 50

PIS: Melta, Melta Bombs, PW 2, Commissar = 120

You have no special weapons in the CCS at all - waste of that precious BS4.

Are you running 40 man squads or 20 man squads?

While Creed can make one unit outflank, this will not be an entire platoon (unlike Al Raheem), so Creed and possibly 2 other units will remain in the back. I would give them heavy weapons so they can pop transports from distance.

Sorry guys, I forgot to put my basic plan after the list.

The Codex says that Platoons are treated as a single unit for the means of putting them in reserve, so it is arguable that they count as the same for when they Outflank. It depends on who I'm playing I guess whether or not they would let me do it, but I see no reason why I couldn't.

In short, the plan is to Outflank both Platoons, while holding the CCS in reserve, because if they were to be the only thing on the board for the first turn, and possibly the second, they would most surely die. So there will be nothing at all on the board first turn; Platoons Outflank, Storm Troopers Deep Strike and Marbo pops up, hopefully all at once. Or at least as soon as possible.

And I am running 40 man Blobs, with the ability to make them into 20 man Blobs for objective games.

Zarruk, I had a hashing out with my local GM on Creed unsing 'Tactical Genius' and we came to the same conclusion that Rum has.

What he felt is that Creeds ability reads "single infantry unit", so that unit is the only thing that can Outflank, not the entire Platoon as per the normal reserve rules concerning the Platoon.

What this does mean is that you could use 'Tactical Genius' on a blob and have Uncle Al and effectivily have 2 outflanking blobs. Uncle Al just brings a few more things...namily himself.

I have made lists like this, but I prefer to have a 3rd blob as 'the anvil' with HWSs puring fire down field till the two outflanker came on.

As for being 30pts over, drop the Eviscerators. You have Melta bombs, melta guns, and the IC can be targets in CC and will probably be killed before he swings with that T 3 W 1. Just place him in the back and hope he can't make it up close enough to get involved in the first fight to give the blob his benifit and you wipe them out first round.

Thank you, that's a shame about 'Tactical Genius' not allowing a whole platoon to outflank.

I was thinking about putting in some HWS's, but I was concerned about their survivability with them being the only units on the board first turn. I also did not want them to outflank.

However, after toying with the idea a bit, I was thinking I wouldn't need a third blob for the anvil, because of 'Tactical Genius' only applying to the Blob, I could still have the PCS and any HWS's still on the field without outflanking. The only real option I think would be if I were trying to fit them in would be to take out the Storm Troopers? I could also take out the Preists for some more room. With those all gone, I could get three LC HWS's (or four AC HWS's) to sit back in cover and pop transports from afar. Thoughts?

Well, as any person that has read my lists they are autocannon heavy, but mech is a big thing at the moment so i'd say lascannons. Is this the list that you'll be vsing everything with?

Power blob can be very effective and competitive.

Something that you can do Zarruk is drop down the blobs to 30 or even 20 man blobs. If you do three 20 man blobs and keep the 3rd blob back, it does give Creed someone for sure in range for 'For Cadia!'. Think of it as a mini gunline list.

You may will want a Lord Commissar to sit with you HWSs to make use of his 'Aura of Discipline' for Orders, Morale and pinning checks.

With the above advice and your thoughts, I kinda picture the following...

AC, 2x GLs or 4x GLs (your choice, though I prefer Sniper Rifles for MC hunting)
