Hey, I'm running a small Ork force right now, I'm inbetween jobs right now so money is tight. I have about 20 boyz, 2 nobz, a gretchin squad and Badrukk. I go against alot of my friends, and they're pretty well off. so I've been thinking of ways to get an edge on them, sometimes I proxy a looted wagon to see how it works, but it usually just gets boomed 2nd round x__x
I know I need more Orks, but for the time being, any nifty tricks I can do to finally beat the stuffing out of them?

for badrukk you need flash gits, and they are expensive and not very good. Id suggest using him as a warboss Now what you need to decide on is wich style of ork army you want to play; there is for example the green tide, wich will count over 100 orks and little else- Or the kan wall, wich is a smaller version of the green tide, but with plenty of kans in front of them. Or you can do a speed-freaks army, wich will count many bikes and trukks. If trukks are too fragile for your taste, get battlewagon instead! The typical Battlewagon rush includes about 3-5 of the monsters! There are three units wich are especially good (an therefore popular). First, its the Kustom-force-field mek. Hes awsome. gives every infantry unit 6" from him a 5+ cover save, and vehicles get a 4+... he's a must in every ork army. So are lootas. D3 s7 ap4 shots are awsome, for 15 pts per model. You want to have a few of these. and lastly, nobs. Kick-ass! They wipe the floor with just about everything, and are especially mean on bikes. You can also put them in a BW thought... A unit i personally like a lot is Kommandoz; with sneakrot they can chose from wich table edge they come when they become available from reserves, wich can mes up any opponnts plans! Automatically Appended Next Post: oh wait, you wanted advice on how to run your army, not how to make it bigger. stupid me.
you do have the codex, right? So the list id run with your dudes would look like this:
HQ
warboss w. Power klaw, eavy armor (badrukk model) 90
Troops
19 ork boys, incl one nob with power klaw and boss pole 154
2x 10 grots for 80 (objective camping)
proxy a battlewagon instead of a looted wagon, its waaay better. fill it with the boys and the boss
battlewagon w. big shoota, deffrolla, armor plates 125
399
add another battlewagon with more boys or nobs, and then make one big mob of grots. AND GET A KFF-MEK!

The next things I was planning on getting once I could were the lootas and then the force field big mek. I thought the battle wagon couldn't transport but I was wrong haha. The Snikrot tactic I do love, My friend has basilisks so that's be a quick way to dispatch them (if I equip them right) Oh and which do you think would be better, multiple kans, or a few deffdreads?

I suppose an ideal question is - how small are we talking here, and what style army did you want to play as?

Right now, I'm pretty small, 20 boyz, 2 nobz, 1 gretchin squad, and a badrukk.
I'm not sure what kinda of army I'll be running in the end, but right now I kinda have my eyes on a green tide

1500 is most fun imho; not so big that it gets boring, but big enough to have some tactical options.
For a mob of Kommandoz, Id suggest this
10-15 kommandoz with Snikrot and two burnas ( pw in cc ) 215-265pts
Maybe you want to check out my WIP blog for inspiration (ive got some lootas im pretty proud of , and some kommandoz). The link is in my signature....

600pts eh? Well I have a trukker list at 600pts that you could also use/modify. Ideally at such a small points range you want numbers, and in a sense Kan Wall can pay off best. Three squads of 15 boyz with Nob leaders & Bosspoles, KFF armed Big Mek and 4 Kanz with Rokkits (two squads of 2). That's 600pts on the dot with some good anti-tank, lots of boyz, some added protection and brutal CC.

untill you get to 1500, the answer for orks is always "More Boyz"
and past that its always a very good guess.
There is nothing orks can face that can't be solved by "More Boyz" or "More Lootas"
