Hey all! I'm finally coming around to make definitive fluff for me army. Not only does this add flavor and romance to the army, but I find that it will also help me paint it coherently, which is a big triumph for an impatient person such as myself. Using a template from another forum, I have done this so far:

That's what I have for now, soon enough I will write up a few paragraphs after finals are over or until I have more time tonight. I still need to think of a name (The Ordained was suggested, but I'd like to pick from a few) and colors for my army. I'm a very uncreative person, which doesn't help either. I'm also going to make them in such a way that when the new Chaos book comes out, I can devote them to one god if I need to. This would be similar to the Sanctified in the Siege of Vraks. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thoughts?

Looks reasonable so far, though there isn't much to go on so far. I'm in the process of writing out my own fluff for a custom chapter, so I feel your pain.

Your bares bones look good and reasonable. To clarify; your warband broke off from the Word Bearers to do their own thing? If so, that's cool, though you'd have to give them a distinct reason to break off to give them that extra flavour.

Are they beholden to one god, or all four?

As long as you keep them reasonable and not super-awesome-favorite-of-all-the-gods-warband-of-doom-and-terror, it should come out looking good.

For now I'm keeping them Undivided, as in I'm using no cult units during regular games, save for Thousand Sons on occasion. For now they do things like pray to Nurgle for deliverance from pain as they walk forward, then perhaps pray to Khorne during the heat of battle. Tzeentch and Slaanesh include. They venerate the gods as a divine pantheon, each of whom deserves worship, but no one gets worship more than the other. When Legions comes out they're probably going to break from their roots and start sticking to one and only one god.

Fair enough, sounds good so far. Nothing ridiculous or broken or over the top. I'll check back when you have more written.
