I only picked up WH40K earlier this month, so my army is still heavily under development.
So far, this is my ideal Necron army. I made it in particular to counter a 1000 point Grey Knights army.

HQ
-Illuminor Szeras-100 pts.

Elites
-Lychguard (X5,+Hyperphase swords and Dispersion Shields)-225 pts.

Fast Attack
-Tomb Blade (X5)-100 pts.
-Canoptek Scarabs (X3)-45 pts.

Heavy Support
-Annihilation Barge (X1+Guass Cannon)-90 pts.

Troops
-Necron Warriors (X15)-195 pts.
-Necron Immortals (X7)-119 pts.
-Necron Immortals (x7+Tesla Carbines)-119 pts.

Total:993 pts.

Yes, I am aware that Illuminor Szeras and Tomb Blade models have not been released yet. This is an ideal 1000 point Necron army.
Constructive criticism is very much appreciated, but remember I'm still quite new to this.

The Lychguard are a huge point sink without an Ark or Scythe transport. You'd be better off replacing them for a Doomsday Ark or even a Tomb Stalker.

Ok, I see what you mean.

This is a non-apocalypse army, so I think a Tomb Stalker would be out of the question. Or were you referring to the Triarch Stalker? I could make assumptions, but...

Lychguard are a huge points sink at this level, I'd drop them to pickup a couple of tomb spiders to boost your scarab squad throughout the game, and perhaps even pickup another 3 base swarm given that you can boost numbers in both using the spiders.

Or, pickup a standard overlord and fit some crypteks into your troops choices, they seem to be one of the best hidden surprises against your opponent, each of the Harbinger disciplines adds a little something special to the list.
