Evening Dakka,

Just finished a game against my mate and we had an interesting situation happen. I fired a Blastmaster at a rhino's behind but the scatter dice gods decided to send the blast towards a combat that was already in progress. Now i know you can't fire into a combat, but what happens when a blast weapon scatters into a combat?? Is it ignored, or do any models under it take the hit?

We checked the rule book and couldn't find any ruling that directly fit so to resolve the matter we took a dice roll on it, 1,2,3 we ignored it, 4,5,6 the models under the template take the hit.

Does anyone know the offical ruling to this?

Thanks in advance.

You cannot target models in close combat. If a blast marker scatters into cc, then any units under the marker are hit as normal.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yeah was quite fun as i was playing a full EC list and included a Sonic Dreadnought for a laugh. (Gotta love the fear of starting the movement phase and taking the insanity tests) He didn't like the fact he had a lot of AP3 coming back at him for once! I had three blastmasters, three doom sirens and a load of sonic blasters, plus the usual lash and oblit's. Was actually a very fun list to play (not for Munkeey tho...)

It also brought on an intesting point.... Chaos Dirge Casters, or Warp Amplifiers which usually reduce Ld, how would they work against another Chaos army! We didn't have any (but i believe the Sonic Dreadnought does come with them according to forgeworld) but it would have been interesting.
