I could use some help thinking of a way to spam Necron Immortals with tesla carbines without paying the $33 for 5. I need 3 squads of 15. Thoughts?

3 squads of 15 arent possible but anyways.....
Theres the usual, try to find them cheap on Ebay (such as Hoard o bitz) or some online retailer/bitz stores. Maybe even just buy the guns themselves and kitbash them with normal warriors
Theres also the "other" option too, but if you are just dont go around showing pictures of the process/etc and also be fully aware this site does not endorse the "other" option.

Up armored warriors?
Plastic skeletons with staffs and techy bitz?
Buy extra arms from a bitz site and up arm warriors?

What "other" option are you referring to?

I think he's referring to a sneaky discount...you know...a discount for being sneaky?
O/T
Ebay is most likely your best bet. If you can't find any second hand or cheap in box models...try looking for stock clearance...you can get many boxes for a fraction of the price...purely because the old stock needs to be gotten rid of

Sigh... he's referring to recasting, which is of questionable legality and violates site rules about advocating piracy.

Hey assuming immortal guns and heads are cheap what about using other bodies like fantasy Chaos warriors. They're fully armored, and with the right paint job might work.

I agree, the warriors of chaos bodies would fit perfectly if you painted them right. And I'm pretty sure the weapons and arms are cheap on bitz sites

I up-armoured warriors to make cheap immortals years ago (mostly because the metal model was such a nightmare to assemble). With something to use as shoulderpads, it's not too difficult a conversion. The results obviously won't look as good as the proper new models, but are acceptable for gaming. If you can find some cheap new tesla carbines (from gamers who've used the other weapons), that would help too.

Up-armor Warriors to make Immortal bodies
Add Tesla Carbine arms - works the same for Deathmarks.
Very easy, affordable alternative to making your own. This said, I've been thinking of ways to scratchbuild a Tesla Carbine to cut out the Immortals kit entirely, but it's reasonably priced and wonderfully sculpted and paired with a box of Warriors makes a load of models.

GavinThrope, if you come up with a way to scriatchbuild tesla weapons you be sure to let me know!
Er this could just be me derping but im not sure if i see the "necron" connection to the warriors of chaos sprue, imo they are very different and not similar.

A guy at my local GW is using the old Chaos Androids from Space Crusade. Sure they're a little generic with the poses (don't tell him that though), but they'd be great for doing things on the cheap (I'm giving the guy a bag full of a half dozen of them for free-you just get that many in one box of that game).

The immortals box comes with deathmark backs and lots of guns, is it possible to take warrior legs, merge a deathmark and warrior torso parts together like in gavinthorpe's tutorial, put on a warriors head, immortal weapon arms, and just stick a spine on the deathmark back and cut off the hood thing?

To put it shortly: yes. Can't promise that it will look great, but it's possible. Honestly, I'd just make deathmarks and use Warriors for your Immortals.

15 successful trades as a buyer;

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from. |

Those guys rarely offer more than a 15% discount. If you want to buy cheap, go to MiniatureMarket (25% off with free shipping over $100) or TheWarStore (20% off with flat $6.00 priority mail shipping).

Basically Chaos Warriors are 12 to a box and are fully armored, get some necron heads and guns from a bitz site (you can also get the chaos warrior bodies pretty cheap) and bash them together. You'll need some green stuff to get the heads on and to get the arms right but it could work. It will look like what it is, immortal spam on a budget, but should see you through.
Another idea that came to me is what about warriors+immortal guns+shields? Either the liche shields or maybe the Necron Counters someone is selling.
Would that work?
