I am newer to 40k (again after a long break).

I have a wierdboy (warphead) with 29 ork boyz. I rolled the Psykik power for him and got the deep strike psykik power.

I declared my target and then "deep struck". I rolled the scatter dice and it put me into terrain which is a mishap, correct?

(Well, the gaming store was closing so we didn't finish this out but the question came up)

If I rolled on the Mishap table and got the result of them remaining in reserves, how does this work for the Unit since they technically never were in reserve to begin with? Do they then go into reserve mode to deep strike next turn? Or do they remain where they were? I couldn't find any special rules in the book regarding this, so any clarification would be great!

------------
Another question. Regarding Ork DeffKoptas...I haven't looked too much into it, so the answer may be out there I just haven't looked well enough...

Do they ignore most terrain? As they can fly over dangerous terrain with no penalty? Or...Say a unit is in a broken building with no roof, just a few walls...can they fly over the walls and assault the unit? Or do they have to enter through a non walled area? or if they can even enter at all?

Thanks in advance!

To waaaaagh or not to waaaaagh, that is the question.

Only if the terrain is impassable. If it's difficult terrain, it would just cause a dangerous terrain roll on the models landing in it.

The general consensus when this has been discussed previously (IIRC) has been that he would remain in Reserves until he passed a Reserves roll, at which point he would walk on, since he wasn't reserved at the start of the game, so couldn't be declared as arriving by Deep Strike.

For myself, I have no problem with him just remaining in Reserve and completing the Deep Strike when he becomes available again. That's how we've played it for the similar situation with the Space Marine Librarian's Gate.

Jetbikes ignore terrain unless they are moving through it. Assuming your 'building ' is being classed as a Ruin, yes, they could fly over the walls and assault the unit inside... and they would roll for Dangerous terrain as they enter the terrain.

If you're classing the building as a Building, it's essentially an immobile transport vehicle, so nobody else can enter when there's a unit in there.

I agree with go into reserves and walk on as it is least advantageous. He only has the ability to deep strike while executing his power. Once his power results in a mishap they are stuck into reserve with no rule allowing them to re-deepstrike.

From the GK 1.1 FAQ:

Q: If a unit being transported with The Summoning
psychic power suffers a Delayed mishap what happens?
(p25)
A: They are placed in Reserve and will arrive by Deep
Strike anywhere on the board once they turn up again.

Now, technically this only covers The Summoning power, however I can see it being used for otehr DS-mishap powers
