I am not sure if this is the right index or if this thread has been posted before, I need to ask this though.

Gunwagons, as in Battlewagons with with a ton of guns. Killkannon, kannon/zzap/lobba etc etc. How exactly do I make this work? With the Ork BS of 2, I miss almost all the time. The codex mocking me, it gives me all of these options but god damn.

i stick with ordinance on the wagons so anything with a template because of the low BS. you can add a bunch of bigshootas too that ur orks can use if they're embarked. also if its open topped a bunch of orks can shoot out of it. so it can be pretty shooty

i have 5 wagons, each with different purpose if played wysywyg

One is a deffrolla taxi, with 2 big shootas

One is a static gun platform, with 4 rokkit launchas, lobba, ard case

One has ard case, 4 big shootas, zapp gun, deffrolla and killkannon, used for infantry mopping (either lots of dakka or one big shot )

One is a basic killkannon platform, 2 big shootas, with deffrolla, designed for cracking open transports and tough units

One with 4 rokkits, kannon , used for transport hunting.

None of these builds is necessarily 'optimal' but i've found them effective enough. I may get another Taxi though..

If you're playing orks, expect to miss, a lot. Use the template options (kannon -frag, killkannon, lobba) if this bothers you, or don't strap as many guns onto your wagon. The payoff when a heavily tooled up wagon gets a good set of rolls can be staggering though

Um.. BW aren't Chimera. You can use the Big Shootas even when the BW is running empty. In think in the previous codex they had bolt on shootas the crew could use, but the big shootas are vehicle weapons, not crew-use ones in this codex.

The killkannon is ordnance, so there is absolutely no point in putting any further weapons (especially not any expensive ones) on the vehicle. However, the killkannon is way to expensive for what it does in the first place, so don't ever use it. If you want a shooty battlewagon, go with all big shootaz and a kannon/lobba. All rokkits is kind of meh, due to 24" range and the battlewagon not being fast. I guess you could park it in the middle of the board and start shooting, but kanz in general are better and cheaper at being shooty than battlewagons.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Are lobbas useful? Right now I've been getting tips from a fellow ork player at my shop, and told me they aren't worth the points. I love the look of lobbas. Right now on average in my lists I field, Battlewagon with kannon and deff rolla, and 2 other battlewagons with a big shoota and reff rollas.

Loobas are fine as big gunz, as you can hide them out of sight and still fire. If you are stacking your battlewagon with shootaz you might as well add the lobba, however, I personally would always go for the kannon. You basically trade 1S and barrage for the option of possible blowing up a vehicle.

But couldn't I just add a deff rolla to solve the anti tank problem?

You may not shoot any weapons when you ram. What's the point in sinking a bunch of points into weapons you are not going to shoot? Thus, a shooty battlewagon doesn't need a deff rolla.
