Just thinking through DA psychic powers and pondering the Force Barrier: Essentially when a libby is wounded, he takes a psychic test, if you pass the test, you shrug off the wound. Its actually not that bad - LD9 = 5/6 chance of passing , so essentially a 2+ invuln (although theres obviously the chance of perilising on the downside)

Lets say I allocate a Lascannon worund onto my DA Libby in termi armour, elect to use force barrier and pass my leadership test. At this point my opponent declares he's going to cock block with a psychic hood. Wins the roll of and blocks the power.

What happens now:

a) Psyhic hood states that it goes off before the power is used, so you havent yet taken a save and are thus entitled to your standard termi 5++
b) You elected to take a save, and that save didnt prevent the wound. You can only ever take one type of armour save on a model. You don't get your 5++ and libby goes boom.



It seems to me like a) is correct here, but b) isn't a ridiculous arguement either. Nothing in INAT or DA FAQ about it so I might be missing something obvious.

This ability is used instead of taking a save. Getting cancelled by a hood doesn't change that.

As above. You take the ability instead of making a save, meaning you dont get a chance to block it using the termie armour save if the power is hooded away
