Hey there Dakka...

Since I started playing 40k a few years ago, I have always had something of a love for Papa Nurgle, though I opted to play and build Loyalist Marine, Guard and Tyranid armies first.

I have it in my mind that I kind of want to start a heavily Nurgle themed CSM army, however I am unsure whether I should prepare to get the codex and models now, or if there is a new 'dex on the horizon and therefore I should wait on that?

My general idea for the army goes something like this:

Typhus
Greater Daemon of Nurgle (probably would just be the regular daemon, but using the FW nurgle model)

2-3 squads of plague marines
1-2 squads of bikers with mark of nurgle (if possible)
1-2 defilers (but dressed up all plague-y, maybe the FW model again)
obliterators (since I "inherited" about 4 of these guys already)

That sounds fine because the new dex probably wont take out any of that, but if worst comes to worst, you can use Typhus as a regular lord with MoN

You take a dump, you flip through the Dark Eldar codex, the concept art for Lelith Hesperax shows up and you pee on the floor.

The problem is that that army doesn't exactly "work" right now. Typhus can't ride in a rhino with the Plague Marines on account of being in Terminator armor, and you probably don't want to attach him to obliterators since he's a close combat character. You'd be better off attaching him to some Terminators and sticking em in a Land Raider or getting that ever-so-awesome Nurgle daemon prince model to lead your army. Nurgle bikers are also obscenely expensive, both money and points wise, and not terribly good, but you might be able to do something with them.

I had toyed with a 1500 list earlier today, and ended up with a few termies with land raider and Typhus.. I originally thought of using the full 20 man plague squad, with the rhinos for cover/annoyance rather than transport, but points and money wise its abit ridiculous right now
