I'm trying to redo my SW army. They were the army I learned 40k with, but I wasn't really winning any games with them, so I switched over to Tyranids. Now that I've gotten comfortable with the Nids ( and 40k ) I want to take a stab at another a SW army; hopefully, with better results. I'm going to be buying a good amount of models to make this list and I wanted to get some help from you guys before I commit to anything.

HQ:
Bjorn - PlasCn

Wolf lord in PA - BoR, Runic, 2x wolf claw, saga warrior born

Battle leader in PA - 2x wolf claw
ELITE:
5 Wolf Scouts - missle launcher, 4x sniper

5 Wolf Scouts -BP, CCW, meltagun, meltabombs

Wolf Guard
4 PA - combi-melta, pfist
1 TA - PW, StormB, cyclone missle

TROOPS:
7 Grey Hunters - melta, pw, mark, standard, Rhino

7 Grey Hunters - melta, pw, mark, standard, Rhino

7 Grey Hunters - melta, pw, mark, standard, Rhino

6 Grey Hunters - plasgun, pw, standard, Razorback (TW Laz)

6 Grey Hunters - plasgun, pw, standard, Razorback (TW Laz)

FA:
Land Speeder - Multi- Melta

HS:
5 Long Fangs - 3 missle, 2 laz
1 leader

5 Long Fangs - 3 missle, 2 laz
1 leader

Vindicator -siege shield

The PA Wolf guard are going to split up into the Grey Hunters with the Rhinos along with the outflanking CC scouts and the Terminator will be with one of the Long fangs. The Lord is going to be in with one of the Rhino squads as they push the assault. The Grey Hunters with the razorbacks will camp objectives.

I like having a couple of wild cards in my lists, so I put in the CC scouts and the Land Speeder to keep things interesting.

Let me know what you guys think.

Power Fists on Grey Hunters are a bad deal. 25 points and you get 1 attack. Call it bad luck, but I've yet to kill anything with a Power Fist on a Grey Hunter. The Power Fist on the Wolf Guard is never a bad idea, and is cheaper when you compare the models point for point. if you really want another special close combat weapon I'd recommend a Power Weapon and save 10 points/squad. Making room for Mark of the Wulfen on top (since you can have both) doesn't hurt either, though I generally stick to the Wolf Standard and special ranged weapon myself.

Your close combat scouts could really use a Meltagun. They won't do jack otherwise the way they are kitted out. They aren't that killy in combat without taking Power Weapons and/or Mark of the Wulfen.

I'd also drop the Power Weapon on the Long Fang squad leaders. Its a neat idea but really, you really aren't going to use it often enough to make it worthwhile.

Land Speeders are never bad and I personally love Wolf Scouts. Naked Wolf Scouts aren't really that awesome though. I'd seriously consider either ditching that unit or giving it at least a Meltagun. The plus side to cutting out what I think you should is that you can upgrade the Razorbacks to have either Twin-Linked Lascannons or Twink-Linked Plasmagun with Lascannon. The extra anti-tank would not be amiss.

Side note: You don't necessarily have to have the Terminator go with the Long Fangs. Now, granted, he can't ride in a Razorback. But I personally find my home objective generally doesn't get hit too hard. Tacking him in that Grey Hunter pack lets you shoot him at yet another target than the Long Fangs if you so desire. Plus he counts as scoring if he's the last one alive. Then you can use the Razorback on the offensive with the rest of your armored force.

Food for thought.

Thank you for your advice. This type of info is exactly what I'm looking for.

I forgot to add in that the CC scouts had melta bombs, but I did add in a melta to give them that needed punch. The fists were dropped to make way for power weapons; more attacks is what I would prefer. I previously played my GH squads as jack of all trades, but I guess I'm packing much more anti-tank to really justify the cost now. The only other change I made would be the twin linked Laz on the Razorbacks.

I did come up with a few points to spare which turned out to be just enough for a battle leader with 2x wolf claws (I love those things).
