Squadrons are bad. They're more of a hindrance than a benefit. They're still only one unit, which means your opponent still only has to shoot at one, and both can magically disappear, and you can only shoot at one target with them. Bad.
Hydras are alright in squadrons, though if we're talking pure competitiveness, drop two of the hydra squadrons for two manticores and you're golden.
I personally prefer more plasma vets than what you have (normally two plasma vets, even at 1500pts), but that's more of a personal preference than anything particularly list altering.

I have to agree with Black and Rick on the Squadrons, specially with skimmers.
But if you keep your list as it stands, what is the point of melta guns when you have 6 TLed LC shots at 3 targets a turn? You should have 1-2 Melta squads and the rest Plasma because what you need is anti-infantry, not anti-vehicle. Also make sure your Chimeras have hull heavy flamers to burn out cover save based troops.
Unlike Black, I am not sold on scatterable artillery with a army that wants to get within 6" of the enemy. You can do it if your smart on your target selection and placement, but they are also undefended and kinda vunerable. I would honestly consider two Demolishers to run up with your Chimeras. Gives you some AV 14 on the board and a Str 10 blast marker. Yeah, it is still techincally scatterable artillery, but I am hoping that your /leading/ with your Demolishers and your Chimeras are behind or abreast of them.
To pay for all of this, drop 3 Vendettas and add in another plasma vet in a Chimera squad. Then you can put a 4th Special weapon in your CCS too... maybe even get a second CCS.

I had extra points so gave you Executioners over Demolishers. I gave you two OotF so now your foe has to kill /both/ CCSs to get rid of them. Your CCS has Carapace for 'Gets Hot!' rolls. Drop the advisors, carapace, and drop the Executioners down to Demolishers and you gain 150pts... 5pts short of another melta vet unit.
How does that grab ya?
