US- Illinois

Im trying to build an all comers 2000 point list for a tournament that I'm having with some friends in a few weeks. I'll be going up against BA, Orks, IG,SW, nids, and 2 nilla marine lists. I have no idea what my friends lists are going to be because we are keeping them from each other until the tournament. Thanks for the advice!

The idea is to infiltrate termies w/ Shrike. Infiltrate scouts into cover if need be or deploy them in cover on my side that has been buffed by Tecmarines on the Thunder Cannons. Libby goes tank hunting w/ Vanguard, same w/ Speeders. Bikes Combat Squad and hunt tanks of cause distraction.

One thing that comes to mind is that I could drop 1 Speeder and get Pods for the Thunder Cannons to make me more flexible on deployment.

Staying on target.....

I'd drop that horrifically overcosted vanguard squad that will lose DoA when joined with the libby and use a standard Assualt squad, full 10 man with a powerfist.

Sorry but it looks a total mess:

Nothing seems to be working together.

Shrike deploys with a squad without jump packs removing his main trick of the turn 1 assault. Whilst said Terminators are now not in Landraider making them both an easier target and also unable to get a Turn 1 assault as both units slow the other down...

Massed Sniper Scouts can turn 1 assault but aren't equipped for it and never need to be in unit of more than 5. Sniper scouts are for objective camping and you only need 5 for that. 10 man scouts squads should be equipped for assault and now you have a troops choice that does far more damage than a Tactical squad ever could.

Drop pod Tac tical squad drops in unsupported and dies.

Libby prevents Vanguard from HI their main purpose which is rarely worth it in a Vanilla list, so their other trick of massed Turn 1 assault is also not being used as they aren't deploying with Shrike.

You have 1400 points of stuff that receives no benefit from Shrikes ability to make you fleet in a 2k list?!?!?!

Most of this being in Fast attack and Heavy support where your options make no sense in a Shrike list. Ok if you're taking a TFC then taking 2 is a great option, but in a shrike list you should be able to handle hordes in CC what you need is transport killing power and Heavy support is the best place to get it (las-sponson Preds for 120 points are an excellent choice).

Then Fast Attack. The Vanguards are great in a Shrike list not convinced you need that many power weapons and certainly not the melta bombs or stormshield. The reason they are great is the turn 1 assault with a unit of horrendous violence, the thing you've chosen not to do. Also why take SS and Melta bombs. If your Vanguards are assaulting vehicles you are in trouble that is 400 points you've got in that unit even if you're assaulting Landraiders you're not going to make your points back (and are far from likely to even destroy it). Whilst the storm shield just means you're putting wounds onto your best weapon in the Relic blade. From range just take a cover save on a different model for the +1 save it is not worth putting your relic blade in danger and in assault just accept the casualty again you'll want thaty Relic blade around for longer.

Then the 300 point bike unit that has literally no synergy with anythig else in the army. Why just why?

The Landspeeders are alright but aren't great for a shrike build. The point of a Shrike build is either that massed punch in the face turn 1 (in which case you need lon ranged AT fire to support and pop transports so you're assaulting the contents not the transports) or a massed TH/SS wall of death which again requires long ranged AT support to cut down your opponents mobility.

I'd honestly say a total re-ithink is required. What do you want the list to do?
