So, i have been toying with the idea of a Modin Iron Guard army, but feel that las weapons would take away from it, is there any type of wargear i can give my troops to sub out there lasguns for a ballistic weapon? If so what is it and how can i get it?

I know this is farfetched, but please dont disregard it right away.

What? Is this just for flavour purposes, or are you looking for something else? I don't understand...

Veterans can take shotguns, but that's it.

Just convert the lasguns up to look like autoguns and use the lasgun rules.

@brunius, Im looking for a straight up replacement of Lasguns, with a ballistic weapon, for an IG army, if there is one that is, sorry for the confusion.

Rules wise or flavour wise? Rules wise, nothing you can do, but flavour wise, you could try autoguns, as Nungunz said. I doubt anyone would have a problem.

autoguns have the exact same weapon profile. If you wanna just say they have autoguns, then whatever, nobody will care if you model them with autoguns.

Exactly what everyone else has said. In GW rules, autoguns are essentially the same thing as lasguns. And everyone who plays knows that IG are carrying a S3 rapid fire weapon, no-one will complain or get confused if your models look a bit different.

GW used to make a metal sprue with multiple autoguns on it for Necromunda, but it looks like it's OOP now. Might be able to get some on eBay.

Or, if you have unlimited money, the Necromunda ganger sets still come with weapon sprues that include some autoguns. Only a few sprues per box, but they are in there.

Or just buy from a 3rd party. There are tons of manufaturers producing various firearms in 28mm. The hassle would of course be in removing the weapon from the metal mordian model

The real problem here isn't a substitute for the lasguns (as mentioned above), it's modelling the substitute for lasguns.

Mordian models are metal, which means that they are more than a little difficult to convert. If you don't already have a rotary tool, you're probably going to want one, as chopping out 200 lasguns from torsos by hand will see you giving up in a hurry.

The other problem is the price. Metal mordians have been out of production for awhile now, and, as far as I can tell, they're not done up in finecast. Remember that you're going to have to buy over a hundred models (even if you wind up doing a mech army, you'll still find yourself having that many after all the different weapons upgrades). Guard armies aren't necessarily the cheapest to begin with, and that's before you get into a bidding war over the models.

Also, you're going to have to do something different if you're going to use lascannons, but that problem is more easily fixed, with just a bit of aluminum tubing from your local hardware store.

Getting the models inst really a problem, since GW has them under the collectors slot, also since id be chopping away anyway, couldnt it be possible to say cut the hands of the models carrying the lasguns and then replace them with the hands of a diffrent set using say ballistic weapons,

also, @well everyone who replied with auto-guns, you think anyone would have a problem if i fielded an army with auto-guns over say lasguns?

The problem with chopping off the lasgun hands and replacing them with autogun hands is that it doesn't work that way. It is really easy for models with pistols, as that's what I did to swap out my commissar's plasma pistol for a bolt pistol. The problem with converting metal lasguns is that a lot of the infantry models hold their guns right up against their chests, and since the models are metal and in one piece- the lasgun and the model's chest is the same chunk of metal. You can't simply cut away the hands and the gun will pop off, you need to actually cut the gun away from the models chest.

Nobody is going to care if you've got autoguns on your boys instead of lasguns- if anything they'd be impressed you went the extra... 10... miles to convert every single guy to hold a different gun with the same profile for aesthetic reasons. At the end of the day they are imperial guard infantry with their infamous s3 rapid fire guns.

If you turn to Forgeworld's website for the Renegades and Heretics list or Imperial Armour 6 & 7 for Servants of Slaughter and Servants of Decay, respectively, you will find that any member of Militia Squads in those lists can take a lasgun, autogun, shotgun, or laspistol and close combat weapon, freely mixing options within a squad. Some people may take issue with the use of Forgeworld rules, but I have found in my experience that most people will be willing to give it a go outside of the tournament scene. This will drastically change your army list from the standard codex, but it is an option and one I have throughly enjoyed using myself.

P⑨P QUIZ

A bus left the Scarlet Devil Mansion; three people boarded at the start.
At Hakugyokurou, one left and half a person boarded.
At Yakumo-san's house, two people left; so how many passengers in total?
The answer is zero people because there are no buses in Gensokyo!

Depends if you count two-man weapons teams, but I expect you don't. If you do, you would be posting this.
