Nice report. Great looking armies.

I don't think I saw it in the AAR:
How does the new Hen and Chicks rule work out for the Soviet tanks during actual play? Do you think it's balanced? OP?

Very nice game. My soviet opponent a few weeks ago failed 4 fearless checks in a row. It does happen

I have not played against it yet, but Steven reports that it is a nerf overall to the Soviets.

It's not a straight nerf or buff, but a nice situational change to the rule.
Saw a game today where this version of H&C allowed the soviet player to close in quickly while shooting against a bunch of Stugs. It was a vicious and bloody fight.
The Soviet player had an almost all T-34/85 army with a character Commissar tank.
The German player's all StuG list was pretty much designed to kill off medium tank armies.
If this had been the previous version of the rules, the Soviet player would have lost early due to all that stuG fire with no return fire if he had tried to move forward at full speed. Meanwhile, if he had tried to have firing line he probably would have lost that as well. This was also in the Fighting Withdrawal mission, so standing still or moving less than 6" to shoot wasn't an option.
Instead, he was able to close in and start taking side shots against the StuGs. A full company of 9-10 tanks firing on the move is still going to roll some 6s, which he did, and was able to kill a few StuGs on the way in. Only some really bad rolls, like bogging down 3 wide tracked tanks in a row and failing every single armor save in a tank platoon caused him to lose a flank, and thus the game.

Thanks for posting this AAR. Very good game. The piccies are always good. Seeing so many tanks just makes me want to buy some now (I have a few shermans and Panzer3's only).
