at least once or twice a week, youll find some meh-quality images on the gallery homepage because some dude put a 1010 on them just for laughts. I find this very annoying, and i will downvote these on sight (giving them an honest rating, not a 1/1)
I'd suggest to ignore the rating on any images for these purposes until they have reached 5 votes, thereby stopping people from spamming the gallery home page with their semi-accepable shots.

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)

What about just disabling voting on your own images to avoid the issue entirely? As in no one can vote on any image they upload.

The voting system is a bit more intricate than most people think.

It weighs the outliers more different than the general average rating. So a 10/10 on a model with 4 votes of 3/10 may be thrown out or bumped down.

Still a model with only one or two votes would have an odd average to go by.

How pathetic, on the part of both parties.

It is a bit annoying, but the crud quickly sinks while the good stuff stays at the top.
