The basic premise seems okay but would do better at higher points.

The problem with this list is the lack of models. With so few people it will be relatively easy for some lists to rip you apart.

I would drop the attack bikes, as I don't think they really add much to this list, and grab some more assault marines.

I like it. I love ABs for the cheap fast-moving melta. One issue with BA armies is often that your melta is all or mostly in Troops, and you don't want to be throwing away scoring units to pop transports.

The Baal Predators can also be used to give cover to your other units, and Shield gives cover to the Baals (or at least one of them, if you're not keeping them near each other).

What turret are you using on the Baals? I'm not sure whether AC or Flamestorm would be best. AC gives them a chance to pop transports at range; flamstorm roasts enemy infantry and can make up for your relatively low model count.

I have assault cannons on them at the moment but do you think Flame-storm would be better for this type of list? I see the point entirely but I like to be able to do 2-4 kills reliably with the assault cannon while staying at range, but if I plan to keep the preds in the middle of the fight flamestorm seems to be obvious. I like the medium to long range gun platform ability that the baal has (but doesn't flaunt usually) and I am not sure which would be better. Not to mention the baal is not impenetrable.

In my humble opinion Baals are too expensive. They still have a huge role in BA lists but at 1000pts you can not hide away from their expense. At the least you should go for the assault cannon to keep you at arms length to keep the pts alive and to ensure the pts can hit something. Assault cannons are awesome by the way, even try them against heavy armour.

Maybe 3 heavy bolter attack bikes and 3 multimelta attack bikes, or sub a couple out to get an extra priest would be better use of the points.

Mixing armour and infantry isn't a great idea like everyone says. Though you have quite slick units that can hide away from dangers so you should be able to get away with it.

I have a general dislike of hybrid lists, (lists that mix vehicles and Jump Infantry), and I think they are especially poor at 1000 points. You don't have enough points to screw around, you need to pick one thing and do it like crazy.

So, I'd cut the Baals. I like everything else in the list, except maybe the Lightning Claw on the Priest. You have 290 to use if the Baals go, so you can take another 10 man squad like the one you have. You should probably cut the LC from the Priest and one Attack Bike to take the 5 man squad to 10 men, give them 2 Flamers and a Lightning Claw or Power Weapon.

A lot better, but I'd drop a Bike for 2 more Power Fists. You should probably also split the remaining Bikes up, so you can shoot at more targets per turn, and make it tougher to wipe them all out via assault.

Absolutely. It will probably get a bit better if Necrons start replacing GK, who can be a bad matchup.

You might want to play around with swapping the Lightning Claw on the Priest to trade 2 Flamers for Meltaguns, but that's nitpicking territory.

Assault Marines themselves are anti-horde. For example, suppose one of your squads charges a mob of 20 Shoota Boyz with PK Nob. Let's assume there's a nearby Priest but he isn't involved in the combat.

You get 25 regular attacks at S5 I5. That's about 7 dead Orks. Then, the 12 surviving Boyz swing, killing .66 Marines. Your Sergeant kills 1.25 Boyz, and the Nob kills 1.25 Marines. You've won by 6-7, so another 5-6 Boyz die. That's assuming you don't shoot beforehand. If you do, you get 2 Meltagun and 8 Bolt Pistol shots, which kills 2 Boyz if they're in 4+ cover or 4 if they aren't. Either way, the Boyz are probably going to get mopped up the following round.

So, you already have a good amount of anti-horde. The Flamers are more for certain bad CC matchups that general anti-horde. Things you really can't handle, like IG Powerblobs, Wyches and Genestealers. Against the run-of-the-mill stuff like Boyz and Gaunts, you don't really need them.
