Ok forgive me im going to ask several questions here for what im not sure about.

Boardsides :- Can they fire both weapons at once (presuming no movement has been made) or one or the other? if so were does it say this i cant find it anywhere so im generally confused.

Guard :- Heavy weapons teams... right i know how to use them but not the most effective weapons to put on them, generally im stuck between missle, auto and las, what would you advise to clear this up? im a fan of the large shell autocannons because no matter how much you look at them the're ideal anti elite/light vehicles and at only 10(or 15? i dont have my codex with me) pts you cant really go wrong and you get 2 shots rather than the 1 shot given by the lascannon, which would be the more ideal choice to use agaisnt a) DE b) NIDS (as my mate has both)

BROADsides: The battle suit support system Multitracker (pg 25 and 26[bottom right entry], tau codex) can be taken to allow them to fire both the Twin linked railgun, and their Missile Pod, or Plasma rifles if you took them. Or if you'd rather take another support system for them, you can upgrade one model to a team leader and further to a Shas'vre, and he can then take a multitracker, as detailed in the broadside unit entry (Tau codex, page 40). Otherwise no, the broadsides cannot fire both weapons.

Guard: Generally this is situational. I recommend missile launcher personally vs DE and Nids, but you can always mix and match with Heavy Weapon Team Squads.

As for the guard, I usually take lascannons (although they cost a lot) then mix in a good deal of auto cannons ( about 2 for every 3 lascannons. This setup offers flexibility, range and merciless firepower.

Slight correction on this; you do not have to upgrade the team leader to a Shas'vre; a Shas'ui team leader already has access to the armory; and the 'vre upgrade only adds +1 to WS(not worth the points, honestly)
