A friendly game that my buddy and I played together. Wasn't really cut throat at all. We had a ton of fun playing a 5 objective game. With these friendly games, I am working on perfecting my overall strategy with my Eldar. My list hasn't changed at all for the past 10-15 games or so. I think I'm finally beginning to figure them out. Hope you guys enjoy.

Note: There are proxies on the Blood Angels side, so if proxies bother you, look elsewhere. Thank you

Star Engines = Fething Incredible.

I've got no idea why more Eldar players don't take these, they really mess with people's paradigm of threat radius, and they're awesomely stylish to boot

Good game from both players.

@Augustine - Thanks man =) I love my eldar army and wouldnt trade it for the world. They are so versatile and can, if played right, match top tier armies.

@Warboss Gutrip - I wouldnt trade my star engines for anything. They give me so many options for 15 points...must have for all your tanks IMO

Actually, guys, I'm going to nay-say the coolness of this game. This might've been one of the most bloodless 40k games I've seen, and at 7 turns! Not boring, Bad_sheep, but underwhelming. Dude, I am a fan of your batreps, but I think you, and your bud, way under played this game.

The Blood-Talonned Dread: Kyle needed that off the ruins. Tsk, tsk. Also, when he had the chance to maneuver and Run his Devs, he ought to have spread 'em out considering 3 FirePrisms and EMLs could pie-pate him. So, directly, Kyle, I wouldn't change your list, but your tactics.

Bad_Sheep, you don't need Star-Engines. I have not seen the dakka discussion, but I'd submit that SG allow for a more cautious strategy of play. But you didn't need it here. You held back for so long, you needed the StarEs just to win. If you'd been a just a little more aggressive, you had plenty of range (the usual 24") for tank shocks. Chopping the StarEs out for Holofields would be my suggestion. And if Kyle had more long-range shootiness, I think the SGs wouldn't have helped.

Still, if you're going to be very cautious, then keep them in. I just like bloodier games with a higher body count.

And the Autarchs ... do these guys ever see action? Farseers would be a great trade considering you play Mechdar tactics, that is, only your FireDragons ever getting out when optional. A little Guide here, some Doom there.

Okay, enough of the criticism. Time for compliments:
1. The board is looking great. More ruins painted (well, too) and I like the cat-walk set of buildings. Cool.
2. Your fleet is looking good. No more devilfish proxies! What are the colors (paint names) of your tanks?
3. Always a great style of report and commentary.

I'm enjoying the batreps, so please take the negatives I typed as constructive. Lookin' forward to more!

@Brothererekose - Hey man thanks a ton for all the comments. I do agree that I play extremely defensive and I tend to stay away for a long time. That's really just how I play and how I have had the most success in my games. The star engines do allow me to play that way, so thats prob why I like them so much. Another thing with the star engines, many situations after a flat out, or a tank shock, your left with your rear armor exposed. The star engines allow you to make that extra movement to deny the enemy your weakest part of your tank. I would have lost quite a few serpents on many different occasions in multiple games if it wasn't for the star engines.

It was tough for the dread to get off the ruins because he couldn't get passed the Death Company, and he was unable to jump off the edge of that "landing pad". He was truly stuck almost every turn...it was pretty funny actually lol.

Star Engines for Holofields....yeeeeeeeeaaaa....only at 2500 =) They are prob a better upgrade, but I just cant see it yet. At 2500 though, my list is decked out with Holos and Stones, so ill be excited to see how they run.

My Autarchs rarely see combat unless their Serpent gets shot down. With that said, there have been a decent number of games where I used my autarchs to pop tanks that did happen to breach my lines. They do come in handy and are really only there for the 2+ reserve roll...thats just pure win for how my list is set up and designed.

Thanks a ton for the compliments on the board, my army, and the commentary. My army is Grey and Orange with some blue/green highlights on the gem stones. It really came together. Shawn, the guy who plays grey knights at the shop paints all of my stuff. He does a great job at an extremely reasonable rate.

Stay tuned for more guys and thanks so much for watching!! More to come =)

Reserve boosts. Right. Okay. That makes sense.

@Brothererekose - haha not sure if your comment was sarcastic or not.

It does really make a difference though when your alpha striking every game and when you have the ability to deny control the table early on.

No sarcasm. And it explains how all of your army coming in at once.

Moving flat out..

Very interesting list.. don't see many armies that utilize the star engines on a mass scale like you did in that game.. enjoyed the battle report.

@DX3 Thanks for the comment man. Ill be posting up a lengthy video on how to get the most out of the star engines upgrade and how you can use it to your benefit. Its really not a waste of points like most people think it is.

I agree wholeheartedly about Star Engines. Being an Eldar player myself I use them quite a bit. But they do bring up a lot of rule debates.

Like Anime in addition to the fun of 40k?
Then maybe you would like the series created by OoziHobo & Co called QUADGUN
