Dangerous Duet






So Hi, just wanted to have the opinion of other players. So the main question is what should there be in the eventually propable upcoming Chaos Daemons codex (in terms of rule) and what new models should be created for them (like GW did with the necrons). Here's an idea of mine as example :

Example of Rule : Reality Breach
At the beginning of the game, divide your army in two equal partsin reserve, one representing the number 1 to 3, the other 4 to 6. Roll a dice. The number obtained represent the part of your army that Deep Strike during your first turn. Each time you have to roll a dice to determine if the second part of your army can Deep Strike, you can re-roll in the check fails.

Example of Unit : Khorne Chosen (Elite)
The Favoured Bloodletters of Khorne, these ferocious and hulking warp-spawned aberrations live only to destroy and slay in the name of the Blood God.

Unit Type : Infantry

Special rules : Fearless, Ferocious Charge, Iron Skin, invunerable save 5+

Unit Composition : 3-15
Points : 20 pts each

Wargear : Hellblades

Options
1- One of the Chosen can become a Warmonger for 10 pts
WS 5 BS 3 S 5 T 4 W 2 I4 A 3 Ld 10 Svg 4+

2- The Warmonger can select these options
-Hellfire Autocannon 25 pts
-Daemonic HellBlade* 40 pts
- Additionnal Hellblade (may not select any other option) 10 pts
* The Daemonic Hellblade is trated as an power weapon which add +2d6 to the attack value of its owner. For each one obtained on the dice, the attack still work, but the owner must direct one of his attack on one of the models in his unit. Example : The Warmonger has this weapon and so has 3+2d6 attacks. He rolls and obtain 1 and 1. So he have 5 attacks, but he must direct 2 of them on members of his unit.

3-One Chosen can receive an icon of chaos for 15 pts

4- One Chosen can become a musician for +10 pts

5-The whole unit can receive Benediction from the Blood God for 5 pts per model.

Id say some sort of grotesque slave-daemon thats large and has a built in portal that lets you deepstrike deamons to it. like a giant piece of meaty death thats not too nasty in cc but has some wounds since its basically a transport creature.

I’d like to the Daemons fleshed out more in terms of units. The current Daemons book is a little shallow IMO as it is largely made of units from the old CSM codex (which there weren’t enough for a full codex to begin with).

I’d like to see something like cultists/daemonmancers in the book. Rulewise they’d be GEQ cannonfodder that could equip icons, essentially making deepstriking units less reliant on the scatter dice (as well as making the army more fluffy).

I’d also like to see a non CSM Daemon Prince special character like Doombreed in the codex.

I want to see:

"re-animated dead" or possessed corpses

gives essentially a range of options as you can have alot of model conversions and give them like guardsmen stats with 1 lower I and 1+ Toughness or something but allows them use like lasguns or lasgun equivilents.

upgrade to possessed corpses of space marines or something. broken power armor so only gives 4+ but +1T and -1 I. Still have bolters and can be slightly better troops than currently available. Gives the daemons some more shooty support.

+ Thought of the day + Not even in death does duty end.

Something more sinister. The daemons are all very colourful and either fluffy or sexually orientated atm... I want something darker.. something more paranormal activity or exorcism. Daemon host's but more devilish ones...

PS. I don't want them to change the GD's! They're as powerful and awesome as they should be... but they're either going to get nerfed badly or ruined in another way.

same thing I was thinking. In fluff, you never see just demons. They always have CSM or cultist running around too.

I'd like to see;

- NO MORE GOD DAMN ROLLING FOR WAVES!!! (seriously, what was Alessio smoking when he thought that one up?!)
- Psychic abilities and some freaking psychic defense please!
- 'Better' deep strike ala desent of angels or something similar
- pts drops across the board
- 'Warp Gates' as a character upgrade that work similar to webway portals

HQ:
- Exalted Daemon.
An IC on the level of a space marine captain in terms of stats, with options in a similar vien to a daemon prince. (ie: marks, a smattering of gifts, psychic abilities)
- Heralds to give a bonus to their relevent daemonic core unit. (ie: HoK gives Bloodletters 'Prefered Enemy: Everyone!)

Elites:
- Plagueriders of Nurgle.
Plaguebearers who ride beasts of nurgle. A non-slow & purposeful nurgle unit, but not proper cavalry either! (they're still nurgle slow afterall)
- Changebringers of Tzeentch.
Flamers riding discs of tzeentch. More shooting abilities to choose from perhaps, and a killer invuln save, but rubbish combat stats. Basically the 'scary' shooting unit that's not a daemon engine.

Troops:
-Put the Furries here and make them not suck please. (right now they're litterly the zombies of 40k !)

Fast Attack:
- Pleasureseekers of Slaanesh.
daemonettes riding fiends. New 'super cav' that are basically glass cannons. Lots of high initiative attacks, but don't let them take hits too well.
- Chariot of the Gods.
No more 'herald only' option, basically a 'unit champ' like an Alluress or Bloodhowler who can take a gift or two and an Icon. Perhaps have them come as units of 1-3 as well?!?

Heavy Support:
- DAEMON ENGINES!!! (seriously, what gives GW? Give us damn daemonic forges and make them customisable ala battlewagons!)



Of corse, I have a sinking feeling that we're at least a year or two off of seeing any love at all, because Daemons are still one of the top armies in fantasy, and GW will likely want to do a double release with us since we can play across both systems.
