Subject: Which army list is better? BT, or BA?

Okay, I am trying to make the best 1000pt army that I can for a team tourney coming up. I am not looking for critiques on the lists themselves, but more for the tactics and which one will do better against the other armies. I also am looking for the Pros and Cons of the two armies, what their streingths and weaknesses are.
Here is the BT list
HQ
Emperors Champion w/ATWDTW - 110
ELITES
5 Terminators w/2 Cyclone ML, Tank Hunters- 265
TROOPS
5 Man Crusader Squad w/ML, PG - 96

FATS ATTACK
Typhoon Speeder w/HB - 70
Typhoon Speeder w/HB - 70
HEAVY SUPPORT
Vindicator w/PoTMS - 145
Vindicator w/PoTMS - 145
And here is the BA army.
HQ
Librarian w/Shield, Lance - 100
TROOPS
5 Man Assault Squad w/Flamer, w/Razorback w/Las-plas - 155

Hmmm, I am a bit confused. Is the question between the above two lists only, as that is all you have? Because from what I see, the BA is a mech list focusing on vehicle shooting, while the BT are a footslogging list with very little to footslog with outside of 1 termie squad. I would give it to the BA simply because it seems better focused.

Well, I'm currently playing both armies, & both seems to me to have their advantages. As for your lists, in my opinion; A. The BT list 1. Its a shooty army, with good long-ranged anti tank capabilities at 1k. Watch out for close combat since you don't have the usual Prefered Enemy USR. 2. 3 units will require to pass Ld checks to shoot at further targets, but 1 unit can benefit from the EC's Ld10. 3. The Vow you've chosen - I have no personal experience using it- but I guess it would be descent/good against enemy psy-powers (5+ to nulify?). 4. People will say that with only 2 scoring units, on foot, it'd be a recipe for disaster for objective games a.k.a you'd never win objective games. Well, I'd say that if you can't win objective games with just 2 scoring units, it just shows that you are just not good enough. I assume you have the confidence, experience & good tactics to protect your precious scoring units, yes? B. The BA list 1. Same minimum number of scoring units, but you have transports here to keep them safe for a while. 2. I'm never a fan with naked Libby. Sure you can hide him in the Backs, but is that all you want him to do? If you are fighting Eldars, he's as good as dead, or nigh useless. And Backs simply do not have firepoints for you to actively use the Bloodlance. If you really want to, try using Sword of Sanguinius instead for a close combat back up capability (which you are sorely lacking here). But with no invul save what so ever, don't put too much hope to survive that encounter. 3. The Vindies - At least the BT's got PoTMS..The BA version seems lacking to me. How about trying Auto-Las Predators for a change? The thing is, your BA list, compared with the BT, is sorely lacking long-ranged firepowers. Coupled with very sub-par close combat units, you have to make sure no enemy units get close enough to engage you in close combat. Hopefully the Baal Preds + Vindies combo can do just that. In conclusion, personally, I'd go with the BT list. It has plenty of long-ranged shots, good mid-range Ordnance, descent close combat units, and descent protection against enemy psy-powers. At 1k, I think this list should be doing quite ok.

BA for the win!
The marines in red are definitely better with more powerful special characters eg. Sanguinor, Mephiston, Dante, and generally better units. Sure they are more geared towards assault but they will almost always destroy everything in combat. But the thing that tips it he most I would say is there special rules. The red thirst can turn your whole army into a bunch of angry, red, killing machines.
Also their models look cooler (I know this has nothing to do with tactical advantage but I thought I'd bring it up anyway).

@MarshallDin - Thanks for your opinion. Thats exactly the breakdown and tactical thinking that I am looking for. And for your question about only having 2 troops, I ussually only run 2-3 in all my games and probably win 70% of the time. And also, this is for team tourney and my teammate is ganna be playing SM and he will have 2 more troops (2 - 10 man tacticals w/backs).

I would've gone with AAC, NMTO for preferred enemy. That has saved my More than I like. The BA list is lacking on the ranged AT right now. There's nothing like a POTMS Vindie to wipe that pesky smirk off your opponents face
