I know its spammy. I like its redundancy though. The Royal courts split up and go to the troops. They provide some AT. The Ghost arks and Annihilation Barges will shoot up whatever spills out of the vehicles detroyed by the Command Barges and Cryptecs.

yes, but what happens when terminators arrive? or Av14. i would drop 1 ghost arc squad mindshackle scarabs, and being enough of the remaining squads down to 5 warriors for 10 scarabs and 6 wraiths with 2-3 coils and 1-2 5 point pistols.

I'm pretty sure the ten Destruction Crypteks could handle the Terminators. As for AV14 - Gauss will do enough, I guess. I mean, there's like over 130 gauss shots in total.
Oh, and Catacomb Overlords. Catacomb Overlords feels like a good way to bring down Land Raiders.

I could swap both Annihilation barges for 2 units of 6 Scarabs. Do you think that helps the list more?

^No. Your list is good, the only irk i hae with it is that i don't understand how crypteks work. In yours you have 5 of the same, i didnt know you could. I thought each one had to be completely individual... not allowed the same wargear. Apart form that, good list. Im not too fond on warriors, i would always choose immortals, but hey, each to their own

I would drop some warriors from each squad a third annihilation barge. You won't need to drop that many warriors for it, and give you a lot more suppression. And where are the Solar Pulses?

i like the idea of a third Barge! The Solar pulses are a bit dicey for me, Ive read numerous reports where the Pulse actually hurt the Necron player. Im shying away from that strategy. Im trying to keep the list as reliable and steady as possible for now.

Solar Pulses only affect the player turn that you choose to use it on. That completely limits the power of certain armies shooting.
I suppose there are ways to it could back fire, such as making the enemy get closer in lieu of shooting, but even then it still seems worth it. How exactly did the Solar Pulse hurt that necron player(s)?

He's probably thinking of Imotekh's Storm as that goes for both player turns. I've seen a few BRs where Imotekh spoiled the Necron's shooting (while the enemy shooting went much better with searchlights/nightvision)...Solar Pulses don't have that problem though, and I think you're right that they'd fit in this list.

Hmm - Ill work them into the list then. They would help close the distance.
I want to maximize the mid range fight and limit the longe range and close combat fight.

Exactly. When your stuff is 24-36" out (just where you want to be), Night Fight should help a great deal. At least throw one in, they're a steal at 20 pts.

You can take one of each unique wargear option per Royal Court. Since you have two courts, one Cryptek from each could take a Solar Pulse in addition to their Lance. If you have room, take two!

In my areas forums(maybe here too) it has been actually discussed that the crypteks in the same royal court all must be the same type of Harbinger. In other words you can not take a Harbinger of Destruction(HoD) and a Harbinger of Transmogrification in the same royal court, but you can take 5 HoD. Out of the 5 HoD 1 can have a solar pulse and one can have a gaze of flame or 1 with both.

This is a pretty common misconception. Let me quote the relevant rule. Codex: Necrons, page 90: "Any number of Crypteks that are in a Royal Court can be upgraded to a single, specific type of Harbinger. Whilst you can have any number of Harbingers of a specific type, each of the Harbinger's unique wargear options can only be chosen once in each Royal Court (see page 84)." For those interested, the page 84 reference is likely this: "As presented in the army list, no Cryptek can mix wargear from two or more disciplines - such a thing is almost entirely unheard of as it indicates a most untrustworthy or undisciplined mind." Also note that page 90 seems to indicate that upgrading a Cryptek to a Harbinger REQUIRES the Cryptek to swap out his Staff of Light for his specialty's weapon of choice (ie Eldritch Lance, Abyssal Staff). To reiterate: the weapon swap is mandatory. So. RAW and RAI, at least by my interpretation, is the following: -Each Cryptek in a Court may upgrade himself - once - to a Harbinger. The Cryptek MUST exchange his Staff of Light for his Harbinger weapon. -Cryptek wargear "options" (note that since the Harbinger weapons are mandatory, they do not - or should not - count as "options" here) are unique to each Royal Court. So a single Royal Court may have no more than one Chronometron, for example, but if you have two Royal Courts each Court could have one. -There is no restriction on the number of Crypteks of a given type in each Royal Court. Hope that helps. xtickx wrote:In my areas forums(maybe here too) it has been actually discussed that the crypteks in the same royal court all must be the same type of Harbinger. Check out the page 90 rules quote I posted above - I'm pretty sure the first sentence is only trying to say that a Cryptek can only become one kind of Harbinger, not that the Crypteks must all be the same type.

Prince of Madness - Thank you for this clarification. I agree with you.
Whilst you can have any number of Harbingers of a specific type, each of the Harbinger's unique wargear options can only be chosen once in each Royal Court.
This pretty much clears it up!

I actually agree with you on this point Prince, its just that until an FAQ comes out my area seems to be going with the alternate ruling. I hope that when they do FAQ this point, that they folllow your ruling, as it gives us way more flexibility. I do see both sides of the arguement though.

I feel your pain, xtickx. My own group has decided that until a FAQ/Errata addresses the issue, Imotekh's Lord of the Storm drops when he does. They believe that Imotekh is actively sustaining the storm, citing that otherwise the storm would have a chance of hitting the 'Crons as well. Of course, the flip side of that is that since they decided Imotekh is sustaining it, I get to use Chronometron re-rolls on it.

I revised the list. Its still pretty cookie-cutter (which I like when Im learning a new codex). I do like the changes though. The cool bit about the Immortals is they are the exact same cost as the other troops I have. I currently have a 5th Ark and 8 warriors - Ill keep thesein the list until the Nightscythe model comes out then change it out.
HQ:
Anrakyr the Traveller; Tachyon Arrow; Warscythe; Mind in the Machine; Catacomb Command Barge
Overlord; Warscythe; Mindshackle Scarabs; Catacomb Command Barge
