Fluffy and all, but terribly weak without Pfists in the tactical squads. Order the bits from GW and make your conversions.

Buy 'em rhinos. A foot slogger list like this will get eaten by most any other codex army.

The dev crews will be really ineffective feilding different ranged weps, without the ability to split fire, like Long Fangs.

Dreads: LasCan and MLs. Go uber shooty.

Vet crew? Not so good without a lot more power toys.

Sorry, but 'tis not so hot.

Yup, I totally agree, thus my comment, "Fluffy and all ... " still stands. I could see it in my mind without actually having to look at that page.

GW's fluff writing and display pix rarely match competitive builds.

Building your army according to the picture in your codex will most likely let you down more often than not. I'd say cut one dreadnought and start gathering power fists for your tactical squads. Unless you intend to stay true to the fluff without compromising.

Yeah the goal is to keep it fluffy and try to find some monicker of effectiveness by other means or at least using the most effective units listed on the page which i think i got all the best ones into the list there no?

If you want to keep the fluff, but add some more effectiveness I would suggest giving the sergeants melta-bombs then. At least if they get stuck in CC with a vehicle then they can still fight back to some degree.

No. That's just it, the Second Co. page doesn't have *any* of the codex's truly stompy units. No ThunderFires, LRRedeemers. Speeders (typhoon), Ironclad Dreads, etc. TH/SS termies.

If you're in a small pond then never mind what I have to say. Play it and have fun.

But in a larger setting/pool of players, with RTTs, this won't hold up too well. To give you some idea:

1. I have not seen a vanilla codex army at the monthly RTT most of this year. BAs & SWs, just having far better options, are the power armor builds you see. Oh, and that other little phenomena, Grey Barons or Counts or some such. Those seem to be doing well, you know, like dominating 'Ard Boyz.
2. Your list has 13 anti-tank weps; MLs & LasCans, 2 meltaguns, including a MM in that 2k list. I've seen Long Fang/razor-spam with twice that. My DE list fields 24 lances at 1850. Twice your anti-tank.
3. The 2nd Co. list is really inefficient:
a. The Devs are royally inefficient. That MM has half the range of the LasCans). HBs mixed with MLs.
b. The one sgt has a Pfist ... In. A. Dev. Squad.

But again, I've become a , power-building, tourney player.

Which is fine because this army list is meant to keep the the theme, and you are clearly missing the point of what a theme is i'm afraid.

The poster above you does get it though. Thats a good suggestion, some melta bombs will come in handy while still keeping the theme of running the army list from the codex.
