Hello all,

I wanted to know if anyone here knows the name of a company or where I could find cases similar to "BATTLEFOAM" cases? Two years ago while at Gen - Con the owner of the WarStore told me that the two guys who started BATTLEFOAM
had a falling out. The gentleman who did the "cutting program" for the custom foam split and was making his own cases for about half the cost. I was then shown the prototype which was in a digital camo color scheme. I now have a steel legion army I would like to get a sizeable case for where I can carry all the tanks, troops, walkers etc... I was hoping this guy is still producing these cases. I was not able to find it on the War Store website

Can anyone please help?

Thanks all, Merry Christmas to you and your families!!

That story seems a bit inconsistent with reality, but the 'other' person you're thinking of is Outrider Hobbies:
http://foamcorps.com/

The lack of images on some items and the lack of updates recently leads me to believe Outrider got bullied to irrelevance by Battlefoam.

I wish Battlefoam would spend less time on that and more time mailing me my case already. It'll be a month since I ordered it tomorrow.

Same. It shipped yesterday for me, but still... almost 4 weeks for turn around is a bit nuts. I ordered 6 custom cut foam trays... shouldn't take that long.

Yeah, mine hasn't shipped yet, but then again it's seven custom trays and a 1520 with embroidered letter patches of some such. Given that their twitter feed said they intended to have the Black Friday orders out by last Saturday, I'm bummed.

well, to be fair I gotta imagine black friday is probably SUPER busy for them, because everyone I know who was ordering or planning to order battlefoam was going to wait until then to get the 25% off...

I guess that it is pretty hard on some US retailers probably having little or no sales the week or two before then huge demand on Black Friday.

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand back on topic...

You are probably thinking of Outrider. I do not believe, though, that they were ever partners (admittedly, I could be wrong).
I have one outrider tray, Sabol sized. It is my least favorite. The quality of the foam is not as good as Sabol or BF (IMO), and it's flimsy.
Porkuslime did a very nice review of a tray he got from them. I looked for it, but couldn't seem to find it.
Also, IIRC, Outrider does Sabol sized trays, not the same size as BF.

Krom42,

Just found this today. Just so you are aware, Outrider Hobbies and I have NEVER been associated with or employed with Battlefoam.

We have released two bag designs featuring digital camouflage, and are awaiting the next shipment of them. We are anticipating them being available within the next couple of weeks. Most of them have been pre-ordered, but we are hoping to get an additional order in soon.

The main reason we have not been as vocal this holiday season is that the laser we use to cut our foam stopped working towards the end of October. While I normally do some Christmas offers, I couldn't honestly do so with no guarantee that we can deliver.

We are making progress, and should be cutting again soon. We are also making some plans to get things more on track and start aggressively growing this coming year.

Thanks for your interest,
Bryan Wade

PS - And don't worry guys, I don't think we'll see Foam Wars 3. If you go to the Patent Office website (http://www.uspto.gov/patents/process/status/) and search for application 12/479,410, you'll find that the Battle Foam patent application was sent a final rejection notice on 09 November 2011.

So that explains the thread then... Romeo. looking to find people who doesn't know, to testify that they were confused.

That's a pretty cynical p.o.v.
Considering the sheer number of people who start these "looking for a carrying case" threads and the relatively small group of people making similar products, I think there's not much to support that accusation.

That's not even to mention the fact that Romeo -while (granted) being known for having a bit of a temper- has never shown a history of shadiness.

Let's not go down that road again, guys!

@ MM- in a prior legal case, a judge chided BF for having a testimonial email from someone who confused their products with Outrider's, when that person was actually connected to the owner of BF. I believe it was the same person who had given a testimonial for a previous baseball bat company that the owner of BF had. Or some such.

Needless to say, it's oooooooooold news... not worth going over again.

Thanks, RT. I wasn't aware of that.
I do know he used to own (?) Diablo Bats. When my wife (HUGE baseball fan) found out that the company I spent "too much money" on foam from was the same who used to make Diablo Bats, she was a bit more supportive and notably impressed. : )
