So the subject is mainly in the thread title lol. For me, it should be the World Eaters because I think Khorne didn't really had the attention he deserved in the 4th and 5th edition compared to Nurgle and Slaanesh.

Black Legion. It's the basic unit of CSM. And it needs to be redeemed first and foremost. A series of poorly thought out pieces of fluff have earned Abaddon the nickname "Failbaddon" which isn't a good sign for the chaos range.

Also, I think by Legions Codex they mean a single codex that has rules for the Legions, like the 3rd Edition CSM codex, not 8 different codexes to represent each legion.

I put black legion, because it's a little bit of everything....

If they are going to have a "generic" Space Marine codex, that should be the first one.

Hence, Black Legion.

I i would vote either alpha leigion or night lords, i would vote for both but alas i cant, they dont get the attention as they should i see very few army list saying thats the leigion they play, most of the time its everybody else, even on DA when i see someone posting a unit in one of the 40k groups its always a well established leigion heck even 1k sons and emperors children have more players than alpha leigion

Well the Black Legion is the UM of the Chaos world so...

to me it would be one of three

1) Black Legion
2) Black Legion
3) Black Legion

BTW: If Alpha Legion gets their own codex, then Raven Guard should too.

I've always wished they'd do an entire HH edition, making "versus" codices.

IE: Space Wolves vs Thousand Sons, UM vs Word Bearers, Raven Guard vs Alpha Legion, Imperial Fists vs Iron Warriors... etc.

Black Legion, they are the most common and have easy paint jobs for beginners. Also they need to write Abaddon some better fluff or get used to Failbaddon.

True. Abaddon doesn't deserve his nickname of Faibaddon. After all, he such a badass model.

Death Guard because nothing feels better than festering boils and hideous mutations just to live for eternity! and besides DG are really good

I assume you mean the Word Bearers, not the Word Eaters?

1K Sons. Most other legions (with some notable exceptions) can be hacked together (poorly) from the basic CSM codex. Not so for the Sons. I want psyker and Rubric options for everything that walks, including dreads.

if this is about the rumored Legions codex then its a little off.

It would be one codex with all the different Legions in it. potentially with lots of bonuses for theming your army and some daemonic support.


The Legions shouldn't each have their own codex. The only difference would be what their troops choices and HQs are. all the other options would be pretty much identical. Everyone gets Obliterators, everyone gets Defilers, everyone gets Dreadnoughts, everyone gets Terminators, everyone gets Landraiders, everyone gets bikes, everyone gets Raptors, everyone can take generic CSM...

Black Legion First.. most vanilla by miles.
Second would be World Eaters as they're immensely popular and not as far from vanilla as the other three god orientated legions whilst still injecting a bit of fun.
Death Guard would be next to satisfy the power gamers.
Alpha legion/Night Lord. Step away from the gods for at least one dex, put out a different kind of fun.
Word Bearers. Step back towards the Gods with deamon whores...
Thousand Sons. Probably next highest on demand after the HH, back to the Gods.
Emp's Children. Finish off the big five with the youngest of the gods.
Iron Warriors. Later so they can make sure all the tanks and things are ready and they can keep their tank rules adapted well into 6th ed.
The last one dedicated to the Night Lords/Alpha Legion depending on who didn't get the earlier pick.

As for me, I've always and will continue to love the Word Bearers. They are true children of Chaos and the most successful Legion after the Black.

Night Lords because they are least like the other Chaos Chapters.

World Eaters defiantly, not they deserve it more then any other legion im just biased . And if you think about it, they will be pretty quick to get done with lol

Word bearers, because my paint scheme is almost like theirs, and on top of that i have daemon army that goes well with word bearers

Alpha Legion the codex fluff would be outstanding, "the emperor met alpharius (or did he?) on a ship, which came from somewhere and never returned to that somewhere. (atleast we don't think that it returned there). The primarch was killed by Roboute Guilliman (we think)"
